1999 Does this mint mark look like a D over P

this is a wild question....I have been going back and forth all week is this a mint over mint..... I have had many people look at it who of course dont collect coins and had some say its a D stamped over a P and other say a D stamped over a S and then of course had those who goes just looks like some metal junk in the middle of the D.

The Mint stopped hand punching mintmarks into individual dies in 1989, so you aren't going to find an RPM or OMM on later date coins

    Make note of the above.

Don't bother looking for coins that can't exist.

If you find a modern baseball with what looks like Babe Ruth's signature on it you don't have to spend even one second trying to figure out if the signature is real. ;)

P.S. - good pics, and the effect, whatever caused it, is interesting.
