1808 CAROLUS IIII - Real or Fake?

I got this several years ago. It weighs 26.4 gms. I have no idea whether it is real or fake? Could one of you experts advise me one way or the other? Thank you very much.

I'm no expert, but it appears to be authentic. If you can get a better picture of the edge, that might help.

Looks legit to me, and nice counterstamp.

I appreciate all of your responses.

Any idea why people used counterstamps back then?

At the risk of trumpeting unfounded doubt I will paraphrase Bob Gurney and say that the Carolus IIII series of 8 reales is the most forged type of all 8 reales. Only one of your photos was in focus -- I'm not sure why you bothered to post the edge photo. The 8 reales forged for trade with China have very accurate surface details and damaged coins are very difficult to authenticate for obvious reasons. Please check to see if the edge shows the overlaps that should be evident on a coin milled on a parallel edging device.
