A 1951 PCGS AU 58+ Franklin Half just sold on Ebay for $1540.15. There were 2 other bidders above $1000. That is above the price guide for a 66+ FBL ! I did not even like the look of the coin.

$1500? Nice series/color, but for $1500? I'll pass. Lol For that money, one can probably buy the whole set in raw condition? But decent condition

Either something we don’t know or just the right bidders at the right time for the seller. Hope I find similar buyers when I sell something next time...

Wow is right. Hopefully the winning bidder enjoys the coin!

    Holy Cow!

But hey, we are all paying a premium for money on these boards, so if the buyer knows what they are buying and enjoys it then more power to them!

It’s definitely a crazy result, but pop 1 coins can do that, especially with something like a 58+ grade.

Wow... I have a set of Franklins in raw condition... Have not looked at them in about 14 years... I should look and see if they have tarnished in storage...Nah.... I don't sell coins, so I would have to dip them.... >:):D Cheers, RickO

IMO, those playing the 58+ game will get hurt. There are 171 coins in 58 that could make the jump to a plus grade, and given the price for this one, there is a significant incentive to try.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

I wonder if this one has 58+ potential, instead of a CAC sticker. Hmmm...

I would wait until the buyer left feedback before I was happy. Many that place nuclear snipe bids expect to get item much cheaper and have time to think about their purchase with reasons to return.
