I was looking through a complete set of v nickels I recently purchased and I believe I have a 1897 repunched date. I am out of town and dont have my cherry picker. Can anyone help me with identifying it? At least then I could find a rough value. Thanks in advance

    FS-301
In that condition, it’s probably not a big premium, although it’s not really my series.

There are several RPDs for 1897.
    I believe yours is FV-RPD-002, PM-34.2 (not the FS-301).
See the photos of the different RPDs at:

Your nickel is not listed in the CPG...but there are plenty of references above... I would say it is an RPD... Cheers, RickO
