Did you play any sports growing up, and if you did, were you any good at them?

I played football, baseball and basketball. I was average at baseball and basketball, but I was pretty good at football. I played defensive lineman at the mites level, and in 1994 I'm proud to say my team took it all the way and win our city championship. I used to love getting at the quarterback, and I got a huge rush when I got a sack. Oh, how I miss those days, the smell of the grass in the field, the hitting drills at practice, the commeraderie with my teammates. I remember we would start iff each practice with brutal exercise drills, and our coaches made us do a drill called "six inches" where you would lay down flat on your back and lift both legs up six inches and hold them there. It would burn your stomach like crazy! I live near my old practice field and still go there every now and then just to see my old stomping grounds.

I played little league, my first 3 AB’s when I was 12 I hit 3 hr’s in a row to start the season and went the rest of the season without hitting any more 😒. 10 th grade I played RB and ran the ball about 20 times against the starting Varsity D every practice and took a beating, then in the showers after I got beat up and urinated on in the showers by the seniors pretty regularly, come game time I got about 3 carries a game on JV, after the season ended I walked into the classroom to join the wrestling team and Coach Carey looked at me and said “Dont even bother” so I walked out lol. That was my organized high school sports career. Got to love the 1980’s 😐. As an adult I played 20 years of softball, was a stud Center Fielder/power hitter. Tried out for the city league baseball team and hit about .200 so went back to softball. In my mid 20’s I played organized Flag Football for 2 years, 2nd year we won the championship and I got league Defensive MVP, I led the league in interceptions. I retired from sports in 2011

That's one heck of a sports career! I always tried to hit a home run in baseball, but just couldn't manage to get it over the fence. I got it near the fence one time and got a triple, but never could get it over. I remember I bruised my ribs slidung into the secind basemans knees, and my ribs hurt for weeks. The rib injuries are rough, because it hurts when you move, it hurts when you breathe, and you just have to let it heal naturally.

I was a 16 year old senior...the ladies were 17-18. So, thinking I'd be "noticed", decided to go out for football. After two practices and literally being run over by offensive ball carriers and flattened, I hung it up. The more prudent move for me was to enjoy my student tickets and not endure the mud and cold of New England winters getting crushed.

I happily sat in the stands with friends, cheered on my buds, and mingled, which eventually worked out quite nicely for me.
I focused more on my socializing skills, which I honed to a fine edge. B)B) Ahhhh, the sweet memories of youth!!

I played all football and baseball until I was 14. At 14 my father forbid football, mini bikes, skiing etc for fear I would ruin my baseball career. I played baseball in high school, was voted into my High School Sports Hall of Fame as a charter member.
I played semi pro ball until I was 26 and then professional softball until I was 32. I came to Texas and the team I was on won 3 straight state championships and was voted All State all 3 years and State MVP in 1989. I retired in 36 as I lost a step and never wanted to be just "regular." All told I added up I played roughly 2000 games of organized sports. Added. I have no knee, ankle or hip problems at 64 although chronic back pain is a problem. Thanks for asking it's been a long time since I thought about the glory years.

I played soccer and baseball growing up, then football and lacrosse in high school and lacrosse in college. I played a bit of club lacrosse after, but not a ton. Now I get out my stick, pads and old college helmet once a year when we have a coaches vs. kids game for the youth lacrosse club that I run. Age is a real thing, my friends. Those 13 & 14 year old kids are fast!!!

Little League baseball starting when i was 8 years old. Then baseball and football grades 7 thru 12. Then many fraternity intramural sports in college.

Also through the years a lot of tennis, bowling, weight lifting and billiards.

Does coin and card collecting count as a sport? 😉

Played baseball from little league through high school. Played basketball from 6th through 9th grade. Played football from midget league through freshman year in college. Was an all conference fullback in high school. Lifted lots of weights thinking pro sports was a possibility. After going to college and having 120 players on the team that all were very good I realized a real career was in order and I became a teacher and coach. Loved coaching up young men and women and actually got more satisfaction then I did as a player. Now I follow my kids around and love watching them play and compete. Love sports and hate what we are all going through right now. But do enjoy spending time with the family. I golf now and play catch with my daughter. That’s my career tale.

I didn't do much in H.S. I did run the 100 yd. dash in 10 flat. As an adult I played Tennis. Had a blistering serve, but never got the hand of putting top spin on the ball so I had to push the ball a lot. I was real good at Ping Pong if that is a sport. I played both Fast & Slow Pitch Softball. I was a much better at Fast. Hit around .670. With my speed sometimes I would switch to lefty and bunt to get on. Don't ever remember getting thrown out.

Played baseball from little league through high school. Then played in a local men’s wood bat league until I was 24. Had to stop cause I couldn’t get off work 3 days a week anymore. Had a ton of fun though, it was a very competitive league, with around 16 teams. Also played a little basketball and soccer when I was younger. Didn’t keep with either though.

LOL....Fast pitch Softball is not Tball my friend. There were some really good pitchers that could bring it and with movement.

Plus we didn't have a spy telling us what pitch was coming! ;)
