Here is the verbiage from the Legend auction for the coin when it was just and ms68: "This wonder GEM was part of the Oliver Jung Type set. We admit we tried it for an MS68+, obviously PCGS did not think it was there. This coin is the ultimate of color and quality. Absolutely pristine surfaces are a joy to behold. Even using a strong glass there are no imperfections anywhere. A decent glowing luster beams from all over. Both sides enjoy a monster blend of totally original rainbow emerald green/violet/reddish gold/gold colors. There are NO spots or discolorations. All of the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is jaw dropping! PCGS 28, NGC 20, CAC 11. The last example to sell via auction brought $18,213.00 in our March 2019 Regency Auction (white coin). This coin was purchased by Oliver Jung for $21,787 in February 2014. The Oliver Jung Collection was the FINEST EVER Type set. If this coin was good enough for that set, it is more than worthy of ANY collection! Cert. Number 25357868 PCGS # 3915.00"

I think the reason that this “coin" was sold so many times over the past few year is that each of the owners woke up one morning,
took a look a the coin and said “yuuuuk”!

Keep following the trail! A chronological write up of all that’s been said about this coin by auctioneers might be numismatic comedy gold. I want to see that first eBay listing of it raw from 2002. “Nickel w/buffalo. High grade! Monster toner! No reserve”

Guess they couldn't be bothered to wipe the fingerprints and smudges off the holder before taking pictures. -petty, I know, but a coin like that should have a better presentation.

The Legend description clearly says no spots or marks. Yet the photos seem to suggest otherwise.
