I just don't get this coin and the seller not mentioning how screwed up it is. What happened to this coin?

It looks acid etched. But, honestly, it could just be a clumsily enhanced image where we're seeing pixellation.

Really? Aren't you the professional photographer? Oh, I see now what you mean about "his thing!!!" Sorry for misspelling the title!! That's funny as heck. Thanks.

    No, I'm 100% amateur photographer.

It looks like an acid etched surface, but it would be hard to do that much etching and keep the finer details. That's why I threw out there that it could be pixelation.

There's also that weird dark line/shadow on the left side of the figure.

All their other coins have the same look. I am not sure why sellers do not check their images and compare them to the actual item.

That coin has been 'worked on'....etched and scrubbed....Not one I would even consider... Cheers, RickO

Sometimes they have no other way to take a photo.

When taking a picture, one can adjust multiple factors that affect the image. I purchased an inexpensive tripod to hold my cell phone. It includes hands free bluetooth control, under $20 for the setup. Even if I am not smart enough to change the camera settings (which I am), I can adjust: height, focus, lighting, background at minimum. There are similar tripods for all cameras, even if one has to still push a button to take the picture. People create "light boxes" inexpensively to establish and controlled area. Then with any free photo software, including that built into cell phones, one can make many adjustments to the appearance. Some do this for good, others to hide things.

If sellers are not willing to invest in their business, their business will suffer accordingly.

Yes, but not all "sellers" have a "business". Sometimes they are just puttering.

I contacted this seller to ask about the coin and the image. He told me he is just selling off a small collection he has had and he took the photos with his Pixel camera.

I don't care for the coin.

Well, I'm not about to place a bid. Looks plenty funky, and the exact reason doesn't really matter.

How do we get eBay bidders to come here and learn? How do we reach them????

Maybe TPG's could team up with eBay and get that to happen somehow.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

okay, okay, I misspelled "this". I type fast and the 'Spellcheck" would not correct the word "his" to "this". It does look funny though!

Sorry Kirk....my response was directed at jmlanzaf.

Looks like its been scrubbed with a Brillo pad. And ol' Rudy still thinks he's gonna get 99 bucks out of it? Dream on, Rudy!

    Buried, pitted, and then worked.

If that poor thing sells for $99, I’ll buy everyone a beer.

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.

That thing has been hit with, at least, a wire brush or a rough Brillo pad😂

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I'm thinking "wizzed" but with a unique technique.

It "appears" to have sold for $99.
I will take one of these please.
    Delicious.

I had suggested that he add a better picture. If you look at the 5th picture, you don't see any of that apparent surface roughness. Looks much nicer
