Wow, wonder what made it that special. Clearly nice, the reverse looks quite a bit different than later issues.

Nice to see some more Hubbard coins hit the market!
Doggedly collecting coins of the Central American Republic.
Visit the Society of US Pattern Collectors at USPatterns.com.
According to the seller, that’s not the case.
So your saying the coins in the flips with Hubbard is not accurate ?
How so ?

According to the seller "Ex Hubbard" on each listing with a Hubbard envelope that I could find.
Where was it said ON THIS LISTING that was the case?
A very few of them may have come from him years ago. Replaced in his collection by better ones.
What does that mean? Nothing.
Edited to add: Buy the coin, not the envelope.
And if you compare the writing on the envelopes, they don't match.

However the coins with the Hubbard flips have a Hubbard ‘look’ ’to them
I say this based on the similar quality from the Mexican collection auction .
Just speculating.

Yes, like it’s an extreme rarity in grade. Good buy!
The title of the other listings says ex Hubbard. The seller claims at least. I know nothing
But you are right, this listing makes no reference to provenance.
I hope you don’t speculate when managing other people’s money....

I bought the 1857 ca jg 8 reales off eBay today from the same collection
Can someone post a link
I think it was a ex Hubbard coin
Edited to add
It was NOT ex Hubbard

@bidask the only 1857 sold today from that seller that i can see is a Chihuahua eight reales for 355, no Hubbard envelope.
There is an 1853 C Ce sold for about 202 with a Hubbard envelope.
Your right
That is the coin I bought

So I checked the Novotny collection and he didn't even have a 1845-CaRG Real when his collection was auctioned. That's how rare it is.
And his 1845-CaRG 1/2R was a VG (so low that Stacks didn't slab it) and it sold for $885 vs. the 1/2R in tonight's ebay auction that sold for $1286 that looked to be a FINE Details coin.
Well, for the real, there are 4 in the NGC census. For the half, only 1. None at PCGS.
I bought the 1853 c ce ( ex hubbard ), 52 c ce , and 1860/9 c ce 8 reales ....could someone please post links ?
They looked pretty nice.
Thank you!

Looking at the few other auctioned examples of 1845Ca 1/2 and 1 Real pieces, these two went for not insane prices compared to some of the other pieces in this collection. I find Cap & Ray minors prices to be kind of curious... kind of vary all over the place (not enough data points?).
The 1833Ca 2R went strongly, I thought. Very nice piece of a tough but not "rare" coin.
I think the half real actually makes VF detail-wise... and the 1R completely blows the XF40 Stack's piece from last year out of the water. Note that the one piece above that XF40 in the aforementioned NGC census is a 65!! I think this piece in question is AU+ at least with OK-looking surfaces from a distance.
Any notable examples from Mexico auctions?
I was going to nibble in the low 400s on that 1852C 8R... again, quite envelope crusty, but evenly so.
bidask, did you notice the old cut across the neck and wing on the 1860/59?
I did not notice that old cut !

You are going to be very disappointed with how these coins grade. They are all problem coins and will stand out as outliers in your nice collection.
Why not stick with graded coins?
I guess @pruebas one always hopes to find a diamond in the rough.

You have to take chances sometime I suppose...and if it turns out poorly you can always relist it on eBay with the story of how your uncle found it in the walls of an old Spanish fort that he was renovating like everyone else does.
Kidding, hope it turns out well for you. I've taken my fair share of chances and they tend to work on more often than they fail. There have been a few failures though, just don't make them big enough to really hurt unless the upside is worth it.

Thanks @Boosibri , I never read before the Spanish fort story, but that goes straight to my next listing.
The coin comes in a flip with the words "Santa Anna" on it. Not sure what that means.... you grade it, no returns.
