Taxi!
This is just a little thread to read and possibly even enjoy. It's about a mysterious set of cards called Klector cab cards. So the legend goes.....
Back in the 80s to early 90s, there was a NYC Taxi cab driver by the name of Bernard Kleckner. He was a friendly cab driver who worked hard and enjoyed his job, and legend has it that he would print these cards to give to his cab fares so they would become repeat customers. He would take black and white photos and colorize then using colored chalk, and he would then type the backs using a typewriter. He then had the cards printed on glossy card stock at Soloman printing. The story has it, that 400 of each card was printed and legend has it that the cards with Kluckner's NYC Taxi medallion number 2M25 are valued more because they were made while he was still driving his cab from 1981-91. I don't know if this story is true or how this legend came to be, but it is quite interesting to say the least. I have run into these cards on Ebay, and became curious about them, so I'm sharing this story with you all. It should also be noted that PSA does in fact grade these cards. Below are some examples of these cards.
PSA graded examples.

Big fan! I was responsible for several of the top pops or ties in that set (as of 10/18 at least) ...
The only one I still have ...
Awesome Larkin! I had a feeling that you might have a copy of that Bobby Jones.
I've had a few ...
The great Pele has touched a Klector's cab card!!
Interesting... Does a complete checklist exist anywhere?
Remainder of set, not already shown here ...
Casey Stengel
Fran Tarkenton (w/medallion #)
Jackie Robinson (w/medallion #)
Babe Ruth (w/medallion #)
Marv Thorneberry
Jim Thorpe
Pretty sure that's complete, as long as the complete set I bought a while back truly was. Those shown already that include the medallion # on back: Fischer, Frazier, Maris, Namath, Reynolds, Evans, Jackson, Brown, Cobb, Ali, Pele, & Mantle
Those are pretty neat. So Namath is the only guy from my beloved AFL.
Pretty interesting mix of subjects. Different sports (and non-sports), eras, etc...
This is insane !!!!
So PSA will grade these but wont grade my other 50 N9 lmao,,,,

I too am a little surprised these could get slabbed, since the cabbie surely didn’t have rights to those images.
Dang, My Andre only got a PSA 9. :-) I could use a 10.
Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable

The 1981 Collectors Cab Andre The Giant card. I do not understand why anyone in the primate male species would ever want to look at it.
Think about it. What in the he$$.
If anyone has the Andre the Giant PSA 10, send me a DM. I'm interested in buying. Thanks.
