NEWP 1861 three cent silver with 180 degree reverse die orientation
Added this to my set, without realizing it was a rotated die variety. MS65 with nice surfaces. The Trueview doesn't show the die rotation. Arrived today and looks great. Nice variety for this series to fill a hole

Very nice!
Trimendous!
Nice piece. If you have photoshop or something similar you could make the die rotation photo yourself.
Approximately to what degree is it rotated?
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Nice!
@ms70 180 degree rotation
Very nice find... and strange the rotated die was not noted....especially at that degree....I realize minor rotations are not special, but that one is....Cheers, RickO
PCGS will actually certify it as a mint error. I found one at the LCS I worked at many months ago and they sent it in as a mint error.

Trifecta!
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
I just picked up an example of this rotated die with a tiny rim clip, it was listed on eBay without mention of either error.

I found this one a while back. Fun coin.

All of the 1861 trimes were struck on seven days. From the number of 180 rotated we see, it's likely the setup was wrong for an entire day...

nice coin in op.
I have personally seen this die marriage a number of times, definitely not rare but I would prefer this die marriage to a non rotated example any day of the week.
