    I have a large cent that no one has been able to read the date. cost me $1 from a dealers junk box

    Interesting date!

    Wondering: Is there a known variety with a die break through the date? Might explain the "night and day" look of the date...and allow you to attribute it! Always fun.... ;)

    I can see part of the 8...and that straight line of demarcation between the 0 and 8 looks as if it could be a die crack...or was....wondering if that area over the 18 and further (6 - 9) could be the remains of a cud....Cheers, RickO
