Grade opinion Raw 80-O Morgan

Bought years ago as AU. I see no wear. Assuming it goes MS after i submit what would your grade opinion be?

may need a dip, may not be too far off as AU/low MS in my view though. it would be 62 as max for me. Just know I am terrible at grading and your photos are equally rough

Chatter in the field in front of Miss Liberty from 9 to 11 or so. So so reverse. MS63 maybe?

Need better pics for sure to be more than just a guess.

From those pics, I'd guess 63 or 64 depending on the luster in hand.

I can see how the difference between 61 and up makes a difference. A 60 or 61 basically covers the cost for the certified slab. 62 is a small bump but 63 and higher is well worth slabbing it.

Looks like old dip residue that wasn't washed off well, Photos don't show great luster (scans maybe) so AU58 to MS62 is my guess.

Thanks for opinions. The luster is actually pretty good and its almost semi PL. I am going to submit since its a better date

The comment above has a lot of merit. That ugly brown stuff might come off with an acetone bath of 30 minutes. And an actual 1 second dip in Zbest might make the coin pop. Just rinse it for at least a minute under warm water after. I think it's an uncirculated coin based on the breast feathers, legs and wing tips.

Ill have to look into that. Never used acetone. Thanks

Impossible to wag based on those photos. That being said nice coin.

Maybe 63-64. Strike is not bad for an O Morgan.

from the pics, it's a guaranteed ms63 at least.

My experience with 80-O coins is that this will probably grade 62. It’s a big price jump to 63 and again to 64. They are usually quite conservative with these.

That coin could be a MS63...pictures are a tad 'soft'...Acetone will not harm the coin and will remove organic residues...Let us know what grade you receive... Cheers, RickO

Heck of a strike for an 80-0. The reverse is 99% full with sharp breast feathers. The reverse is definitely MS 63/64 The obverse fields and cheek look "confusing" but probably follow the lead of the reverse.....likely MS too.

Toss up between 63 and 64. I'll go with 63.

I'm not sure how viewers can assign an MS grade based on these pictures. I'll stick with AU, but it appears to be well struck.
