I have 11 of them that form the key and most indispensable part of my collection. Those coins were the slot machine winnings in Las Vegas of the Lovely Mrs. Hydrant on our honeymoon night at the Golden Nugget Casino in that DESPICABLE town. I got arrested the night of our wedding for climbing a fence. I was locked into a parking lot. I only wanted to be with her. Long story. Anyway.......I spent the night in the tank and she won 11 big ones. We laugh about it 43 years later......Things haven't changed much.......

I never cared for Ikes but, as with anything else, the older and scarcer that something becomes, the more I can appreciate it over time.
There are CERTAINLY some eye appealing examples being shown here.
Nice!!
I remember as a kid bring really excited waiting for them to come out.
My great uncle (who was really great...I think I have mentioned him before on this board) gave me
a blue Ike for Christmas.
I could not have been any more excited....it was a similar feeling to going to my first MLB baseball game...
Anyway, I think it's a nice design.
I like the open fields...and the reverse is really done well.

I really like the reverse, too!
My Grandfather gave me some raw Ikes, when I was a kid, too.
They were cool and I still have them.

I like Ikes. While they didn’t circulate a lot when I was a kid, I did my part! My dad would usually get me a couple whenever he went to the bank and they had some. I’d usually spend them for a comic book, football cards, or candy or some other thing of value to an young grade schooler!
As I got older, I came to appreciate Ike the president and general and have been a donor to the Eisenhower Foundation for many years to preserve his memory for future generations of Americans. Almost every year, the Foundation sends donors an Ike dollar in the mail with a request to give it to a young American and tell them a bit about Ike.

Here's something I think many here can appreciate:
A while back I was browsing ebay and came across an unusual listing for a set of Ike Dollars. Someone took much time and effort to convert an old LOC Morgan album into an Ike Dollar album, I can only imagine why someone would do this since surely an Eisenhower album would have been available somewhere. I thought what they had done was really clever and showed how resourceful some collectors can be, I placed the opening bid and was unchallenged.
Here are some pictures of that set.
I sure can, also very cool that you preserved it...

Yup, my dad and I bought Blue Ikes during that period, no Proofs, and it was a lot of money, even for the Uncs (over 2 hours pay)

My Ike collection may be lagging behind some of the others on here.

Since people keep mentioning the reverse, here’s the best toned reverse of which I am aware (obverse ain’t too shabby either):
Not really a fan but in my younger days I did put a low grade unc set together in an album, must still be laying around here somewhere

Some wonderful looking Ikes in this thread!
Here is one that is somewhat a low unc grade, yet the overall look appeals to me.

This is one of my decent toners... lousy pics!
I loves me the proof silver, it compliments the open field. I've got a few talon heads somewhere. Peace Roy

Funny this got bumped. I had two toned Ikes in my hand a few minutes ago.
I debated over taking pics but some other coins won out.
Since this thread started I added one more to my set:
I have a complete set in my capital plastics multi coin holder that I enjoy looking at.. tho I still need to pick up this guy.
