Can't believe this one escaped the attention of so many on eBay for a week. Has to be original, look at the detail on the reverse. Reverse could use an acetone bath, but afraid of removing color from beard, etc. on obverse.

I like hobo nickels.... not sure how to determine authenticity, however we did have a couple of forum members who knew a lot about these pieces. Cheers, RickO
Looks like an original by the artist known as "Notch Nose."
Just use a cotton Q-tip with acetone on the reverse.
An interesting effect I never noticed until I saw your pics....
Little piles of metal at the end of lines. I assume that shows moved (chiseled) metal instead of a power tool.
Good one.
Judging from the reverse, looks like the Artist picked a well struck Buff for his subject.
