Buying, just not coins, ammo and maybe a Ruger SR1911 9mm Commander this weekend, to add to the arsenal.

Sold a bit of bullion a few weeks ago and timed it absolutely perfectly. Ignoring my 401k for a couple more decades. Bear markets are actually good at my age. I have a few coins "out there" right now for sale. I'll buy if something perfect comes along, but with less-than-average enthusiasm. I'm slightly suspicious that the people I work for may ask me to take a voluntary pay cut at some point in the near future. I'm so very grateful I saw the light a ways back ago and starting eliminating debt.

If a coin that I need comes along ,I will be a buyer.

Yes but in a shaky situation like we all are in, how do you determine the real bottom?

I was buying a month ago. Why not now?

Will keep buying, but more selectively these days.

Buying, but only gold bullion coins. Nothing numismatic right now, but that could change if I see something priced to move.

I would like to make some purchases. But better judgement has put me on lock down.....on pretty much everything except food and toiletries and fuel.
It would be safe to say the major delivery companies are very concerned about operations in the upcoming weeks. I see a huge concern here.

Luckily on the front lines in healthcare so my employment is very secure. I've been holding unless something really good comes along. Trying to buy silver, but non existent at sub $8-10 over.

I’m in a holding pattern. Not buying, not selling, just sitting and watching. This is unprecedented to me and I think everyone else.

Yes to all three. Holding my bullion, buying and selling Morgans.

Not sure if this is a sign of the times or just a lucky break but I picked this up on ebay last night for what I consider a steal:

If I get one, I will use it to pay for a chunk of a nice, plated Chapman or Elder catalog. $1K or $2K will not buy a truly interesting U.S. coin, in my experience.

Buying! Cherry picking only. The other day, got to peak through approx. 50 different potential Proof sets containing varieties. I couldn't believe I still came up empty? :'( Did appreciate the owner allowing me to search though.

Buying: I need to rent a truck big enough to haul the amount of 90% & pm I’ve bought.

Selling: Just a small USPS box w/pre printed label from the buyer was enough.

Buying if it's right. Selling for same. Holding the rest.

I know some folks on the FB groups are selling due to unemployment, etc. If I can be an additional buyer and provide liquidity--at their fair prices for offering--then I'm glad to help as long as I'm able.

Otherwise, just sitting tight as nothing else is really available now, with LCS closed or by appointment only, auctions postponed, and estate sales cancelled.

GSAs, OBW rolls, Seated, Walkers. Anything old and Colorado-focused, CO nationals.

Gonna get me a $50 Octagonal someday. Some. Day.

Willing and able to buy, but, it would need to be a very special coin, or a very special price.

  • ThreeCentSilverFLThreeCentSilverFL Posts: 1,697 ✭✭✭✭✭

Yes, I have bought in the last two weeks including yesterday. I'm just a collector though, so likely my buying will decrease accordingly with the ongoing progression of this mess.

I need to change my status from cautiously optimistic to lockdown hold.
The PA governor just mandated that all non-life-essential business must close.
That includes our extremely busy land surveying office.
The list is massive and must include 80% of businesses in my rough estimate.
That's an enforceable mandate, not a suggestion.

Hmmm, Unless you are surveying small lots in the city...that doesn't make sense. Too wide of a blanket?

    He cast a wide net.
We're rural surveyors. Generally very large tracts in the middle of nowhere.
Also half of our business is natural gas related construction stakeout, topo surveys and well plat mapping.
The list of the type of businesses that are to stop is incredible.

I am not interested in selling hardly anything out of my two core series and one supplemental.

I would prefer to get rid of practically everything else but it isn't worth the effort and the money would make no difference.

I’m sitting chilly right now. Spending most of my time stopping investment bleeding — mostly successful — and looking for the bottom — we ain’t there yet, IMHO.
