Allen Iverson 1/1. I love the heart monitor thingy.

2015 Panini Absolute Glass Pete Maravich. This card is made of glass. This series features other players as well.

This jumbo card is one of my all-time favorites and one I think is super cool!

I loved opening packs of the 96-97 Skybox E-X2000 set back in the day and the insert set Net Assets from that year might be my favorite set design ever. I was lucky enough to pull an Iverson and a Jordan (not this specific one) and this would get my vote for the coolest card I own.

1991 Pro Set Platinum Emmitt Smith. This card contains 1.28 grams of actual platinum in it. This card is hard to find, and when it does turn up at auction, is very pricey. I believe it was a redemption card from 1991 Pro Set.

2016 Panini Studio From Downtown Kobe Bryant.

Growing up, the 1962 Topps was the first Mickey Mantle card that I ever saw. I always loved the wood design, and still do.

    Awesome cards!

DD, do you own that Mantle? It is incredible.

Conundrum - Loving my unopened baseball card collection....but really like ripping too

That’s a screw down holder from the 90s. Sacriligeocalifraggalistuc ?

Yes, I believe it's the holder that Pro Set sent with the card when you redeem it. It's a beautiful card, and I wish I could just smell it once. I bet it smells wonderful.

2000 Bowman Chrome Refractor Tom Brady. This is by far my favorite Tom Brady rookie card. Just look how beautiful this card is.

Here's another example and you can see how the light makes the colors jump out at you.

I own a lot of 1/1 Red Sox items and in my Clemens PC have quite a few low # items numbered 25 or less
But this one's special as it was a gift from a fellow board member

Its the first Clemens Logo card produced and its a cornerstone of my Clemens PC- enough so that its used in my profiles. Only 1 card I'd want more and I haven't seen the other card since it sold to someone in Hawaii in 2008.

And Michael isn't the Griffey Wild even better don't you think ??

Those Babe Ruth cards are amazing.

"Nobody's ever gone the distance with Creed, and if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood."

The 90s (and 2000s) brought us a lot of really cool cards. Basketball seemed to have the very best of the coolest cards for a while. So many neat card materials and designs, mail-ins, NNOs, redemptions, etc. A trio of cool:

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.

Yes basketball cards had some great designs in the 90s to 2000s. Here are a few of my favorite Jordans.

I love the hexagon chain link design of this Aaron Judge card.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

I love the design of 1985 Topps Football, and Jack Youngblood is one of my all time favorite players. He was tough as nails and once played in a game with a broken leg. He was feared on the field for his ability to seek and destroy.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

You would have to be crazy not to love 1973 Topps Comics. Hey, put your coffee down for a minute, and just take a good look at this beauty.

    AMAZING Die Cuts.....

    1998 Ultra
    Diamond Immortals

    1998 Pinnacle Epix
    Promo

In September 1997 Pinnacle Brands distributed promo cards, available in all three colors, previewing the upcoming 1998 Epix inserts. There is no player depicted and the front merely has Pinnacle's "Icon" logo. Like the regular Epix inserts, the Orange promo is the easiest to find and the Emerald the scarcest.

I love this Super Mario rookie card, it's the 1985 O Pee Chee box bottom. Here's what the card looks like on the box, and also an example of a hand cut copy.

Panini actually did a Crudade for basketball in 2012 that resembles the 1998 design. If you tilt the cards in the light, you can see how awesome the design is.

I give credit to Panini for coming up with one of the best football insert concepts I've seen in a while - the Downtown series. I think they are a case hit. I also have the Josh Allen.
