Hit me up for scanned images, I haven’t scanned them into my computer yet but will gladly do so if someone is interested. The only one that has ever been found in circulation was sold for around $19,000 in 2017.

I believe there have been 2 so far? somebody can correct me on this?

  • Oh, I’m sure you’re right. I’ve only come across a few articles on the first find. Do you know how much the second one sold for?

The first three mg you do if you believe you have found such a rarity... Contact PCGS and have the coins submitted for authentication/grade. You will nada for these until you do.. and if you do trick someone into paying you money for these... I would consider that predatory

A better first step would be to post pictures, in order to get a quick, easy answer as to whether the coins are small date examples. If they are, the next step would be to confirm the weight. My bet is that the coins are either not small dates and/or not bronze.

I see claims by email, on a weekly basis. And not at all surprisingly, none of the coins have been, as advertised.

    Both are large dates.

Why do they weigh 3.1 grams though? For some reason I thought only the copper planchets are 3.1 grams and I thought only the small dates where made out if copper?

  • Also i have what I think to be a 1945 error (on “liberty”) where the L is too close to the rim. What would any of you think this could be valued at?

A distorted L is a fairly common anomaly on older cents.......... worth about 3 cents.

I’ll never know exactly what I’m looking for man, not until I find it anyways, & such is life. I’m an opportunist, when I find things I’d like to research, I do. But the world of numismatics is immense and not something I’m ready to launch into as deeply as I’d usually prefer. I’m just intrigued by the fact that people are some of the time circulating such rarities without even knowing it.

I would give you 25K each but I just spent 50K on this cool error.

Hey, thanks anyways brother they’re not even worth that much though, as I’ve come to learn. 🙃

    Large date/ small date.
Pay particular attention to the 2s, as well as the weight. Good luck in the search.

What should the weight be? Mine don’t have the small dates but can I tell they are copper by the weight being 3.1 grams?

Haha yes please one corona, skip the virus please. How should I start a set, like by quality & dates? What sets do people typically want to buy anyways?

The weight doesn’t matter unless the coin is a 1982-D small date example. And if it is a small date, it only has extra value if it’s bronze (3.1 G).
