1913 type one buffalo nickel -- machine doubling versus a doubled die

Here is a 1913 type one buffalo nickel “doubled die obverse” being offered at $1000.00 on eBay.. Not DDO but common shelf like
machine doubling. A lot of money for machine doubled me thinks. Lets have a discussion as to what constitutes machine
doubling vs. a real doubled die. I have contacted so many sellers on eBay to let them know that their rare doubled die coin was not actually a doubled die but just worthless machine doubling. And some were really indignant. And others said they had taken it to their local coin shop and were told it is a doubled die. Others said that “Uncle Fred” who collects coins assured them it was so. Good grief!
