I almost made it or why I did not get to the Atlanta ANA.

For several months I had been looking forward to the Atlanta ANA show. By Tuesday night my hotel reservation had been made, my suitcase and my briefcase were packed and my car was gassed. I was literally 5 minutes from getting in bed, for the Wednesday morning trip to Atlanta, when our daughter called. She is a Sophomore in college. She said that she was laying on the floor and it felt like her head was going to split open. There were two nursing students with her. They called the Dorm Mom and campus security. 911 was called and she was transported via ambulance 20 miles to the nearest hospital.
My wife threw some clothes in a bag ( I was of course already packed ) and we got in the car. We drove 3 hours through the night and a light rain to reach our daughter. She had an extreme migraine. She had not had one in several years and never this severe. They ran several tests and gave her an IV. When she was released we got a hotel room for the night. She went to sleep quickly and slept 10 hours. The next day we let her rest, with the lights out, while we made an appointment for Thursday with her doctor.
On Thursday, after her appointment, she felt well enough to go to one class. We stayed over another night. Friday she went to all of her classes. After her last class we brought her home for the weekend.
There is always another coin show. She is feeling better now. If you want post a coin from the year 2000 which is her birth year.

Wow. Glad she's better. Good that you were in driving distance.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
You made the right decisions. As someone who has suffered through migraines for several decades, I sincerely hope her physicians can find a way to lessen their frequency and severity.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Ouch, no fun. One of my college buddies/roommates used to get migraines, would wipe him out for a day or 2.
Glad to hear she is better. As you said, there is always another coin show.
Same daughter who had a root canal on a healthy tooth?
Glad to hear she's better, of course you made the correct choice. Hopefully doctors can keep them under control for her.
Posting one to make up for your missed trip.
Chronic migraines are terrible. My son (avatar pic) is down to 4-5 per week. It used to be 1-2 per day. I get them occasionally and that's bad enough. He plays Division 3 college basketball and is studying engineering. He missed a few games this year but still made all-conference as a sophomore.
Hopefully your daughter can find the right medication to help. Finding a treatment that works can be challenging
Very happy to see the event had a good ending....Good decision....Hope your daughter finds a way to reduce/eliminate the migraines. Cheers, RickO
Glad to hear that she's doing well. Family always comes first.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Yes, same one.
Family is......EVERYTHING!
Family first.
There will always be more coin shows and more coins, when matters at home are less pressing.
I've never had a headache in my life. Maybe because I'm a simple minded fool. I think that helps. I feel for your daughter. I can't imagine. Sometimes it pays to be a simple minded fool. Don't stress friends........it's NOT worth it.
Some new drugs are on the market for migraine headaches. Ask your local doctor.
Prayers for your daughter.
Glad she is better and hopefully she can find some meds to help this.
Definitely the right choice. Years from now when medicine has her migraines under control and enough time has passed that you can laugh about this, you can remind your daughter that she owes you a trip to a coin show.
