Who is your favorite athlete of all time. It can be in the past or present. I'm bored, so I have to come up with something for us to comment on.

Mine of course is Joe Louis, the original greatest of all time. He was the world heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1949, and dominated the sport of boxing. He was a terminator in the ring, and Muhammad Ali was once quoted as saying, "Joe Louis is the real greatest of all time". He was nicknamed "The Brown Bomber" because of his vicious knockout power. I just can't get enough of the 1930s and 40s black and white footage of his fights. He came out if retirement to fight Rocky Marciano, and lost to Marciano pretty badly, but was way past his prime in that fight. Rocky Marciano was later quoted as saying that he hated to have to beat Joe Louis because he was a huge fan.
Gotta go with Ted Williams. Saw him play in Fenway. He had a pretty tough childhood and rose to become one of the best in the game. His contribution to his country during the height of his career speaks volumes as to his character.

Steve Yzerman. By a million miles. Humble, leader, superstar talent, tough as nails, and willing to sacrifice his stats for the sake of the team. And played his entire career with my favorite team.
Toss up.
Joe Willie and Swanny
I didn't "idolize" him by any means, but enjoyed watching Harmon Killebrew. He just CRUSHED the ball. I also liked that he was not a showboat, went about his business in a calm, but confident way.
Some of the new players just look like fools.
Roger Staubach ……….He was a class act and gave up years of his prime to serve our Country before he went into the NFL.
Man as much as I would like to say I do I just never have and never will
Idolize anyone. Athlete or not 🤷♂️
I've taken out the idolize part of the thread. I've changed it to just who is your favorite athlete of all time.
Hands down Tom Brady
I never would have guessed that.
The Mick. Bo Jackson
That would be tom brady.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Pete Rose
Aaron Rodgers, Mike Trout, and Albert Pujols
George Brett, Terry Bradshaw, Jim Rice, Jack Morris
Jimmy Connors, Barry Bonds, Pete Rose, Mark Roth, Rocky Marciano, Roberto Duran
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!
Ignore list -Basebal21
Carson Wentz, Alex Cora, Patrick Reed, Mike Kruczek, Jadeveon Clowney
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
I like your choice of Marvin Hagler. He was an absolute beast for sure.
Dr. J and Moses Malone.
I call BS on that. You are going to tell me that when you were 2 years old you didn't idolize one, if not both, of your parents? Never is a very strong statement, especially when saying, "anyone. Athlete or not."
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
Stan Musial
Good choice!
Tom Brady.
Having spent years following teams like the Eagles and Phillies, often did well to stay out of the cellar, let alone the playoffs, Brady made it fun. The Patriots made the playoffs just about every year, and usually went deep into them. It was a great run, which is probably over, but I am grateful for it. His figure will hang on my Christmas tree every year.
Maurice Richard was my childhood hero!
Joe Frazier - long time Philadelphia resident, heavyweight champ, and always a class act.
I can’t believe my all time favorite player is a QB for Tampa Bay 😳
There, there, it was a heck of a run.
😂😂😂
Jim Thorpe.
No love for this 2 time AFL champion? Congressman and Vice President candidate? Lou Saban said of Jack, “If he spend half the time studying football as he did politics he’d be in the HOF.
