That's a magnesium coin. They do tend to tone colorful and with diffrent color from silver coins.
I would guess that it was left in dansco coin album with the mylar slide window off from the reverse. Jmho.

Bob is just looking for a rise. He's sold worse than that in the past.

That's an awful lot of color on that coin, Shaggy.

I don't care what anyone says, that coin is beautiful and I would be happy to own it, even happier to have found it raw.

Pretty neat how the toning aligns with the design on the Sac dollar!

AT or NT it does have an impressive look to it.

If it’s artificial, someone make me one, I’ll pay moon money. That’s a gorgeous coin! I’d seriously pay stupid money to own that.

Hmmmm, not true. I don't even delve in toned coins much. Like Ricko, the whiter the better. If it is natural, and I can't imagine how a dansco could do that or any other way, I ask how so quickly. Toning generally takes decades if not longer to become so vibrant. Isn't this a 2012 coin?

PS: just looked on ebay and it does seem that wild toning does happen on these proofs. **So, I do stand corrected **and will accept the magnesium causing the unusual rapidity in toning.

As most here know, I am definitely not a fan of tarnish. However, the reverse on that coin (OP) is almost like a painting... very pretty scene and could be a sunrise....Now, back to my blast white coins... :D Cheers, RickO

Sac dollars can display the most vivid, beautiful toning that equals any other coins in the United States series.

Thanks All! Was a perfect fit for this group as the least attractive coin went away and this one took it's place.
