    MS62+ if obverse hairlines.
    Could be a MS64.

    Gorgeous

What’s the discoloration beneath star 9/to the right of the cap?

Are you talking about the crescent of reflected light off the cello?

I think that’s just glare from the plastic.

Looks like a nice coin tho

As to wear it's a 58. Can't tell from the pictures if it's been messed with.

IMHO that's an anomaly with the camera. Same center of the reverse.

If that’s what it is, yes. I thought that’s what it was, but I wanted to be sure - thanks.

From what I see, I’d guess the coin grades 63, shot 62.

I could see that in a MS63+, maybe MS64 holder. Looks really nice from the pics.

The photo is overexposed so a grading call isn't really possible. It could be AU58 or an MS but may also have been dipped at some time.

    All glory is fleeting.

    Here's what you should do.....

I would submit it. If it comes back MS62 or MS64 that coin would be worth WAY, WAY more than greysheet pricing.
That is what you should do. You could make a boat load of money if it holders....which it will.imho
Then I won't be able to afford it, but you can make serious $$$$$ selling it elsewhere.

Two coins that I bought raw and submitted to PCGS for comparison...

    MS62 is my guesstimate.
FWIW, I think the one in the 61 holder also shown is a little nicer than the OPs coin.
But again, all I have are the photos to go by.

May be the image but it looks dipped to my eyes and not original. Detail wise it’s nice.

If that is washed out OG crust and not shadowing around the rim, then yes I agree it has been lightly dipped.
It would still grade at PCGS. imo

Very nice looking coin.... If the 'roll mark' in the stars on the obverse does not give it a 'details', then it should get an MS62....mostly due to chatter in the fields...Cheers, RickO

That part where PCGS chooses to use the Vernacular "Improperly Cleaned".
Think about that for 1 minute.
Sometimes a quick dip is a massive improvement on a Blazer MS Morgan. PCGS absolutly allows this.
Almost every Deep Cameo / cameo proof coin I ever submitted raw had been dipped by me. It was a massive improvement in cameo contrast, eye appel and higher grade.

Deep in the PCGS grading standards it used to say if a coin was super old like a Flowing hair, Draped bust and eariier. PCGS would allow slight problems to slide that it would not with the more modern coinage.
Don't know if PCGS still has the publicly written.
