Tonight’s episode revolves about an 1870-S dollar, valued into the 7 figures. Here’s a picture of the back of the coin:

Here’s what I wrote in the other thread about tonight’s NCIS episode:

At one point in the dialogue, the owner of the 70S referred to his daughter’s intended as a tarnished common quarter, and in another scene the 70S looked untoned and I thought I saw hairlines too. And it didn’t look like a Seated coin at all!

How does one get a hater to stop hating?

Obviously a prop coin.... but, of course, they would never use a real one... They could have used a real dollar coin though.... and the handling, throughout, even by the original owner, was horrid. However, what can we expect from a TV show... ;) One of the two shows I try to catch.... Cheers, RickO

During the episode, the coin was examined by a coin expert, and the appraisal by the expert was $1.4 million!!! Gosh, where can I sell a counterfeit for over a million dollars???? ;)
