Now that the Baltimore listings are out, we can see the pieces Brent kept for himself. He really was a collector's collector with this broad spectrum of pieces, which I imagine are ones that he really cherished.
Here are Brent Pogue's Libertas Americana medals which will be at Baltimore.
1781 Libertas Americana in Silver - MS63 - POP 3/1 - Ford-Pogue Specimen

Here are Brent's Panama Pacific Slugs. What wonderful coins!
1915 Panama Pacific Octagonal - MS65 - POP 22/8 - Pogue Specimen
1915 Panama Pacific Round - MS65 - POP 29/11 - Pogue Specimen
It's great to see these as coins and medals he chose to keep. Definitely a collector's collector!
Of note, while these coins have the D. Brent Pogue inserts, none of them show the provenance on PCGS Cert Verification. It would be great to add it.
Is it safe to say these coins were raw until recently?

I really like those gold slugs... the octagonal is my favorite (maybe because when I was a kid, we lived for a time in an octagonal house)....Beautiful design, obverse and reverse... and gold... Cheers, RickO
The octagonal Pan-Pac would probably be first on my list to acquire after winning the lottery.
It is perhaps the most visually stunning commemorative ever struck.

These seem to have been put in the current holder recently. Whether they were previously graded I do not know.
It's neat that Pogue was also a Lincoln cent collector who owned a MS68 1919 and a top pop 1955 DDO. Along with the Pan Pacs and Libertas Americana medals, the 1955 DDO is a stand out. He really was a coin nut like many of us.
I also included his steel cent below. This isn't offered in the auction and thus is not directly attributed to Pogue bit it's cert number is within the Pogue sequence indicating that this is highly likely one of Brent's coins as well.
1919 Lincoln Cent - PCGS MS68 POP 17/1 - Jack Lee-Pogue Specimen
1943-S Lincoln Cent - PCGS MS68 POP 115/2
1955 DDO Lincoln Cent - PCGS MS65RB POP 10/0 CAC - Madison-Pogue Specimen
@ricko was the octagon house you lived in an old schoolhouse? Got a few of them in Bucks Co. Ground is still giving up the goods. Peace Roy

Hey Zoins: Where do you see the all the Pouge coins for Baltimore listed? I went to Stacks website but it didn't look like they had been posted yet. Am I missing something?
@Namvet69....No, it was not a school house....It was always a residence, but unique. Cheers, RickO

They have a preview up listing all the Pogue lots. They are not numbered nor open for bidding yet though it looks like the descriptions are done.

I guess there's a couple of OK items.

Wow!
Here are Pogue's 2 Seated Dollars in this sale, a no motto and a motto. This is one of my favorite types so it's always good to see nice examples.
1863 Liberty Seated Dollar - PCGS MS67 POP 1/0 - Pogue Specimen
1866 Liberty Seated Dollar, Repunched Date, DDR - PCGS MS66+ POP 1/2 CAC - Pogue Specimen
Thank you WinLoseWin for posting the link.
Which of the remaining Pogue coins in the upcoming March sale are everyones favorites?
Personally, I think the 1833 Capped Bust Dime John Reich-2 in Proof 66 is pretty spectacular!
This is a great little mini “complete set” from the 1854 San Francisco Mint. It may be the only one outside of the Smithsonian National Numismatic Collection. The eagle looks out of place with the other four specimens.

Great set of coins. Thanks for the links and pictures.
Great eye @Currin ! What a great year and mint type set.
It looks like Pogue kept something like a type set of his favorites.
Curran, almost all of these coins (if not all) were purchased already slabbed.
I'm really interested in this Pogue CAC coin, but it may already be too high for me! It's already over 30% above the estimate. The fingerprints are a minor distraction, but I wonder if they belong to Brent!
I really like seeing this side of Brent. He really did love to collect, whether it was classics or moderns and high grade or low balls. Even his low balls are CAC!
Anyone else getting ready to bid on the Pogue collection?
His low ball set is charming, and, like you, I have an eye on one. But the provenance will probably make it more than I'm willing to pay.

Here's another I'm interested in which has gone through the roof. I was hopeful due to its estimate of $100-$300. With over a day to go, the bid is at $4,320 (incl BP)!
PCGS Price Guide is $350 and the highest Stack's Previous Prices Realized is $264.

Quick question - How does one tell what the cert number is in Pogue attributed holders?
Hey RickO, did it look like one of these. The pics were just taken off my rear deck. There are four of them in my neighborhood, probably built in the early 70s. I always thought the plans came out of a "Popular Mechanics" or a "
Whole Earth" magazine. I built in 1990 and they were here when I got here. Tom

I looked at a house like that years ago. Very unfunctional design IMHO.
Yes, at the bottom of the Stacks Bowers description, click here for certifications details from PCGS. It can be seen in the listing above posted by Zions.

Thanks, Currin!
@tommy44....No, it looked nothing like that. It was (still is) a two story home, built in the '30's or early '40's. Very rare...the only one in this town...and at the time I lived there, it was said the next one was over 100 miles away in (I think) Massachusetts. Cheers, RickO
Isn't there one near Middleburgh, NY dating from the 1850s, or so?
Yes, and it's for sale.

Lol. How did a Pogue thread become a thread about odd-shaped houses?
Every time I get a notification a new post has been added, I come on and see what people are talking about the Pogue coins!
I’ve been thinking that for years! Except I want them both.

Is selling before a big stock market crash like winning the lottery?
Here are Pogue's upcoming high relief pair:
1907 High-Relief Wire Edge - PCGS MS67+ POP 1/3 CAC
1907 High-Relief Flat Edge - PCGS MS68+ POP 1/0 CAC - Phillip H. Morse - Pogue Specimen
Wow! This sold for an amazing $4,080 which is moon money to me, Pluto's moon.
I need to get some as pocket pieces!
They were buying the fingerprints!
