My local Coin Show Report

I saw the forum note about the Ladson Coin Show today (Friday the 31st) and knew it was coming up but had forgot to check when. Since it opened at noon today I had plenty of time to get things done before driving the 24 miles in a light rain and arrived about 1:15 with only a few cars in the parking lot.
This is a local fairground with numerous structures and the show is put on 3 times a year by the Low Country Coin Club. The show had its usual 30-40 dealers including 2 supply houses, and even ANACS for coin grading. They were not at the last show so I was glad to see them back.
I walked over to introduce myself to the Coins Make Cents table and enjoyed a brief conversation with Rob and Casey before walking the floor. In fact I found most if not all of the dealers very chatty today. One I met was a new dealer whom is looking to open a B&M shop someday and I pointed him in the direction of another dealer whom I know has opened 3-4 shops in the past 10 years.
I did not find any thing I needed but still enjoyed my outing and the simple opportunity to hold a few coins in hand.

Thanks for the report.
Nice!
Thanks for the report. Shows are fun, even when just browsing.
I love local shows, even if I don't buy anything. I just like looking at coins.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

I was there!
I had some business at the Joint Base and figured it would be a good side trip.
Did not have too much cash on me and my focus was on Proof Sets.
Ended up speaking to a dealer I remember from Charlotte 2019 show. He had a table full of statehood quarters and I bought a nice toned set and a few rolls of assorted mint rolled quarters. Anyone know his name?
Spent roughly $72 with him.
Just as I was about to leave, I spied behind the display of Low Country Coins a stack of 50's and 60's proof sets. The owners son patiently handed me stack after stack. Found a nice toner set and a couple borderline Cameo's. Ended up blowing my budget and bought 25 +/- sets (majority were unopened).
Probably the best quality of proof sets I have ever come across. Alot of high end, .problem free coins. Worst case, if I don't find any errors or high grade coins, I send them back into the wild at near cost.
$458 in PROOF SETS... oh brother!
$530 for the day!

Side note: If you have never been to Ladson don't depend on google to get you there...
Use the Exchange park when searching and not the addie

Thanks for the report
Thanks taking the time to post your show report @WaterSport.
Nice report, you look like you are having a good time.
Thanks for the report....I used to love the smaller local shows when I lived in the PNW.... never knew what might be available, and prices were usually negotiable... Sure, a lot of times, I did not buy anything... but always had fun and saw neat coins.....Cheers, RickO
That used to be 1 of my best shows until they moved it out to the fair grounds. For what ever reason it seemed all the serious dollar spenders in the area would not go out to the fair grounds. Still looks as dead as it was when I stopped doing it several years ago.
