¿dónde está Darin?

galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 7,851 ✭✭✭✭✭

are all of my glorious PM pictures in vain?

among Mahomes' many endorsements is Nissan, and his likeness appears anywhere there is a dealership in the western half of Texas (he balled out at Tech in Lubbock). in fact, he's on the freaking staff page. so when i took my wheels in to get serviced a week or so ago, i took this for our misplaced friend. arguably the most anticipated lead-up to a game since he's been alive, yet he's nowhere to be found.

has anyone heard from him?

Even more confusing is Coinstartled wearing red this week. For the Chiefs? For the 49ers? B)
Haven't seen anything from Darin in quite a bit and he hasn't replid to this thread looking for him from a week ago:

Darin has commented many times how much that he coveted my 1975 Topps uncut sheet with the George Brett rookie on it. It just so happened that there was one that came up for auction that was to end on January 13th. It was the first one that I had seen in the 20 months since I bought mine. I sent him 2 different PMs about it in order to alert him to the auction in case he wanted to get in on the action. One on maybe the 8th and the other on the 13th. I did not get any response. That silence, coupled with his inactivity during the Chiefs run, leads me to also wonder if everything is ok.

i jokingly said weeks ago that he sold a mahomes card and is now in the caribbean, but hell there may be some truth to that

maybe i need to investigate the strength of connectivity in aruba 🤔

By this time next week, his Mahomes collection could possibly double in price. Hopefully all is well with him.

Well that's all on him for going down that road in the first place. For Darin's sake we'll just say it was the Chiefs ;)

I'm concerned. I sent him a PM within a day of his last post. I had never messaged him before, but wanted to comment on something he said and talk some Chiefs. He never wrote back. I went through his history, and I don't see any times where he was gone this long. Is there a way to contact him?

I hope all is well with him. I've always enjoyed his posts. It says he was last active Jan. 5th, so it's been over three weeks.

Will someone make a post in the card forum asking about this? I would but almost no one knows me there.

what's really embarrassing is that his 15-yr anniversary is approaching yet there isn't a single soul who knows how to get in touch with him. moreover, can anyone even confirm his first name is Darin?

    this should not be happening

Is he in the KS area? I assume his name is Darin.

Not to be morbid, but maybe a look at local obits would provide some hopeful relief. :'(

I lost a friend about 10 days ago, sudden death and I haven't been able to find out much.

Hopefully Darin just decided to take a break.

Not to be a downer, but I doubt he would take a break just after his team won the SB. He was all hopped up about their chances starting 2 years ago.

A mod commented on another thread saying that he emailed Darin but hasn't gotten a response. Do they have his real name? I do not remember what I had to provide to sign up.

I cannot give out private information about another member, but I will say that a couple of weeks after this thread popped up, I looked up his contact info. I called the number that he had one file, but it had been disconnected. I also emailed, and have yet to receive a response. That could mean something or absolutely nothing, but I do not know which.

I know you cannot give out his info. I truly thank you for trying to contact him. If you have not done so.......if you have his name, can you do a Google search? I fear the worst, and maybe it would give peace of mind.

I have done a couple of Google searches, but have found nothing. I also searched his name with the word "obituary," and also found nothing, which gave some hope that he just wanted a break.

    Wow an obituary search?
Earlier this year it was true what Todd wrote that I did want a break then a windstorm hit and knocked
over my satellite dish and I thought well I guess I am taking a break from posting.
With the covid thing hitting we didn't get it fixed for a few months and no I do not have a smart phone so
was off the internet for quite a while.
Lately have been checking in once in a while then saw the group break thing on the sports card forum
so decided I need to get in on that. Tried to log on but password didn't work, had to get a new one.

Hope everyone is well and sorry if you thought I was dead.

Go Chiefs. Still selling off my Mahomes rookies, the dude is making me a lot of money. :)

Welcome back Darin! You gave us all quite a scare. I'm glad to see you're OK! Welcome back!

Yea, but where's the thank you from any Chiefs fan for the Eagles firing Andy Reid in which their Super Bowl win with Mahomes would never have happened.

Darin its good to see you back and doing well, here's a long overdue Congrats on your Chiefs winning the SB. Its safe to say that your Mahomes retirement fund is way ahead of schedule right now.

since January i have been driving the backroads of Kansas with my window down yelling "DARIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

it's all good though. all i have to do is call up the team of automotive specialists at McGavock Nissan and ask for Patrick Mahomes to discuss a new ride now that mine has 515,000 miles on it

glad you are back brother, and a belated congrats to your Chiefs for sticking their flag in the top of the mountain
