I get it now, why some people comment on almost every thread.

I guess I really never knew why some members here comment on a lot of threads, and then I clicked on the "Recent Activity" link at the bottom portion of threads. It's all about (for the most part) being at the top of the Weekly and All Time leader boards.

I thought some were trying to show there knowledge on a lot of issues, now I see it's just a competition.

I think it's great that these members really work hard to learn and demonstrate what they learn. It keeps the threads interesting and gets others posting new threads.

Thanks 😊

I posted someone's picture, hope they don't mind.

If you comment please include a Coin Picture and let's see how many coins we can get here. (I think you get points for pictures also.

I had a picture of a Walker Half here but some one complained, the owner did not though.
I took this of one I Own. This reverse is the best feather detail of any Walker Half I have ever had, the toning is clear pattern where it sat against the mint bag for some time. I would love to have a bag full of these.

Just trying to get some coin pictures, nothing personal.

I intend for the thread to be friendly...😀

That I can see. It’s the gamification of everything. I guess I don’t worry about that much. I had several thousand messages as nwcs here. I would probably still use that ID if I could remember the email or password I used then — if it was even still available after all these years.

Oops, should post a coin too, lol. Just picked this gorgeous 1905 Indian up from Rick Snow, owner of https://www.indiancent.com/.

Better than I expected. would like to post a video from downloads but this site doesn't seem to allow that.

BTW @Texas is that stunning Walker a PR68+? Wow!

It's a picture that I copied a few months ago, I'm not sure who originally posted it..

When I see a nice coin I add the picture to my collection of stuff I would like to have.

I ask forgiveness for using someone else's picture, hope they don't mind.

(If it's yours let me know, I would like to have this one)

Thanks for the link, I love this pattern I saw there...

Quality, not quantity, is important to me. Quality posts, quality coins. No interest in being on the leaderboard of the most loquacious. Enjoy reading the regulars’ posts, though.

Perhaps - or it could be some people just like to talk a lot (or in our case comment a lot). I'm sure you know people like that. I had a crazy Aunt who - every time we'd go visit would TALK the entire time - she would never stop. Weather, sports, the dog down the street, her pains, her husbands pains, her pains, etc etc.I just sat there and read my Sgt. Rock comic books - the adults had to endure. Serves them right for taking us there. Heh heh.

I saw that, if I remember correctly PCGS had another board running but the server was an issue. It was a bit Wilder than this one and finally shut down.
I may remember wrong, stroke four years ago messed with my memory real bad...

Just wondering if anyone remembered that board.

There used to be an Open Forum here but it got too wild and PCGS decided to shut it down in 2007.

Very nice Half, I love being able to touch a coin, that's lost if it is in a slab, I do like slabs for preservation, rarity, being able to value a coin property, even if I don't agree with a number grade all the time, too many people don't appreciate the subtle nudge of using terms like Choice, Gem and Premium Quality.

    Just an opinion...

Never noticed before but I doubt it is a factor in anyone's posting.

I see you are now on the leaderboard @Texast .

Better keep posting to maintain your position.
