Newps from Mesa AZ coin show yesterday.
Looked like a very successful show for all involved yesterday. The room was at capacity with dealers and tables. I saw a lot of purchases and sales going on.
For me, I think my focus at the moment is a bit narrow for this type of show. High grade War Nickels aren't rapidly available. Then there was the "do you have any Jefferson Nickels in the old rattler holder?". Blank stares.
I did however make a few "impulse" buys.
An 1982 Souvenir set, both P and D mints.
A neat Bureau of the Mint set. I've never seen one before. The coins are bicentennial pieces and the medal is from the San Francisco mint. It is larger than the medals in the souvenir sets.
Finally, I was looking through a pile of 1964 sets, ones someone put together years ago. As I looked through the 1964 P sets, I discovered not one but two 1964 quarters with the type B reverse! What are the odds?
Overall, a nice time.

I'm not a 'Modern' collector but some of those look very interesting. Thanks for posting them.
Superb George!
Always remember that you have a pair of eyes on the east coast looking for rattler Jeffersons for you.
Thanks Ray.
Not sure how your 20cent collection is going. I might have to educate myself on those. Nothing as far as proofs in the old Rattlers for you though. Thanks for the eyes on the east coast. The search goes on.😁

Nice to see that you found something, I found my usual nothing to buy. Which I should qualify by saying that there were a number of quality coins at the show, just nothing in my area of focus or needs at this time. This area is flooded with snowbirds this time of year so the isles were full of aging white guys in walkers. Many of the regular area dealers were buying/selling a lot of silver dollars and junk silver with some numismatic material selling also. Well the Phoenix coin club show is a month away so maybe I'll find something of interest then.

Right about the walkers. It was hard moving around.

For a moment there I thought the Walkers (Halves) got loose and started rolling in the aisles and crowded the aisles.
Nice stuff
Interesting... I went to a coin show in Phoenix...many years ago, when I lived there. There was quite a thriving collector base out there back then....seems it is still doing well. Cheers, RickO
The winter shows tend to have higher than normal numbers due to the snowbirds, the number of times I heard some fellow say "I'm from Montana" or "I'm from North Dakota" was staggering. Plus we have been seeing a huge influx of people moving here to escape California, I see more Cali license plates as I drive around here now than I do in Cali.

@coinbuf ....I am familiar with the influx of snowbirds each winter....the other migration is not good....Cheers, RickO
