My first coin that I paid money for was a 1908 St Gaudens No Motto raw. I paid $600 for it around 1987. I wish I had a photo of it and all my other gold coins in first generation holders that I collected over 30 years ago, but do not. :'(

6 perfectly good planes made me leave them at 12000....to which....I couldn't tell you the first coin purchase I made.

The white knuckle when the door opens up there, the drop out, the ground rush, the brain change......wouldn't trade it for the world.

The knuckles was the first time that door opened and only then, in a cesna, and I had no clue I was hanging onto the rail as hard as I was...the serenity of the day owned it every time after.

    Did you just jump??? @1630Boston

While I don't have any pictures...a few early Lincoln cents I bought at a Woolworths in 1967? One was an 18-S.

More or less this is the first coin I paid money to acquire. It was my first mint purchase. There haven't been many since.

I don't have any pictures left of my coins from before. I had some good purchase raw before and was getting them graded as I could afford it. I wish I had took pictures and kept them. Had some good toners as well. Here is one that I bought lately:

    My first coin purchase:

In the late 1960s, I bought a 1940s era Walking Liberty Half Dollar (don't remember the exact year) for .60 cents. It was purchased at a coin stand at Universal Mall in Warren, MI.

Up to that point, the thought of spending money on a coin made no sense to me. I collected all my coins from circulation.

I still have the Walker somewhere in my collection, but there is no way that I could identify it.

First coin I paid money for was a $20 Saint for $55 in 1964. The second was for an AU 1955/55 the same year for $50.
