Picked up today, seller's pics, not mine. Just a tad saturated...

Even if the luster is muted due to the frost it is still a 64 level clean gold type piece in a cool holder. Fun way to own a classic coin for near spot price.

So, Rick, I was under the assumption that "widgets" were defined as fairly common, non-key date coins. Am I wrong?

    Cheers

Look at the pop reports for generic Saints in low MS grades. Their values are closely tied to the price of gold. However, 'widgets' is perhaps a harsh word in these cases. Many collectors cannot afford to spend that much money on one coin. Regardless, the design is the finest in U. S. circulating coinage. Even my wife approves of it, and she does not care for early coppers.

    I'd consider it a widget.

Personally, I'm a fan of widgets.

@Outhaul....No Bob... I just think that is a really nice coin... and a widget would normally be less consequential...Thus, your other coins must be really nice...Cheers, RickO

Widget is a disparaging term for a generic coin also called a common date coin.
Your coin would be considered a widget and I like it very much especially in the old rattler slab. B)

In commercial numismatics, a widget is a desirable & collectible coin that could be quickly and easily obtained by any person with sufficient cash money. The range of coin widgets is large.

If that thought does not work for you, use the Justice Potter Stewart formula.

I love your beautiful Double Eagle. Now, Double Eagle gold is not, and never will be, a widget. At least not in my book.
A beautiful coin and that fancy holder is pretty cool too👌

In truth, Legend has handled plenty to widgets. I remember the dispersal of something like a truckload of slabbed widgets, all purchased as one deal, a while back. They will sell no widget before its time.
