Didn't see a thread on this...

Coin World is confirming there will be 2020-W quarters injected into circulation with a twist...

https://coinworld.com/news/us-coins/production-starting-for-2020-w-quarter-dollars-with-privy-mark

Each of the 2020-W quarter dollars is being struck with a privy mark that will appear on each coin’s obverse, in the field in front of George Washington’s portrait, above the inscription LIBERTY.

The privy mark is being sculpted directly into the master die.

The earliest strikes are test pieces that U.S. Mint officials refer to as “design validation strikes."

Same as last year, 2 million of each quarter will be salted into 140K coin bags.

I have failed miserably in getting any 2019-W quarters. I've gotten a higher percentage of eagle backs than any time after the ATB's started.... :(

one can determine the ratio of W's to non-W's by dividing total non-W mintage by 2M. Last year's five quarters averaged a P&D mintage of about 260 million per quarter. That results in an avg. of about one W for every 130 P&D coins or 15.38 W's per $500 bank box. These are averages as the salting process has demonstrated that the W's do not get evenly distributed among the coins.

To further emphasize your math if corrected, that's an average of 15.38 per $500 box of NEWLY minted P &/or D ATB quarters. Dont want any avg. Joe (or Jane) to go out and grab any quarter boxes and gets all high hope and all.

Just from my locality, I'm averaging maybe a W quarter per 4-5 circulated quarter boxes searched.

yes, 15.38 W avg. in box of new coins, post clarified. thanx

2019 taught us that the coins are not salted evenly. W's per box of new coins varied widely. Found over 100 in some boxes and as few as four in other boxes.

I guess you can say that now we all are privy to the "privy".
