So I drove up to see Paul at Pegasus Coin and jewelry to drop off my Movado watch and get some other things reviewed. What a great Guy and so knowledgeable. I will say he know his stuff.

I learned today that pearls require light like any other living organism. I have several strands and other pearl jewelry. He knew with just a quick look not only the quality but the actual origin. How impressive. He also replaced a missing stone for something I thought would end up in the melt factory. Great to have honest Jeweler who shares important information to his clients.

Ladies and gentlemen make sure your pearls get to see some daylight. Don’t keep them in dark for too long. Fortunately mine are still in good quality. This will apply to any scarce and unique coins or other items with pearls in them.

What did you learn today?

Cool coin. Why do pearls need light?

He explained it to me like other natural created items. Silk. It is organic so it needs light. Ever see a wedding dress stored in addict and after years it gets pulled out and it looks yellow? Same thing. PVC on coins? Yes we have seen that too.

His explanation was simple for me to understand and it hits right on target to other natural organic items we all love to collect. Corrosion in the air environment etc.

I’m sure there are more in-depth details but for this forum it would be Charlie browns teacher 😂😂😂

These are the sets Paul reviewed. I will wear them periodically now that I know.
