My first slabbed coins from a few decades ago

These are not rare or special coins by any means, but they are the first slabbed coins I ever purchased.

I got the Morgan dollar and Buffalo nickel from a cable shopping channel back in the very late 80s or early 90s to the best of my recollection. (Maybe the slab styles will help date them). I was not a new collector and I knew they were overpriced, but I wanted to see these coins designs in new condition and figured these were freshly slabbed for the promotions.

Sorry for the bad pictures. The lighting was not cooperating. I mainly wanted to show the older slabs. I doubt the silver dollar would grade any higher today due to all the mayhem on her cheek. The Buffalo nickel has just a hint of golden toning all over.

I was happy woth them when i got them and I still am, so I guess that's all that matters.

Also pictured is a sample slab I got for free from the outfit named on the sticker.
They were free if you gave them your address and phone number. (I got two so there are pictures of the toning on both coins).

It can be enjoyable looking back at old purchases and remembering where they came from....I do that from time to time....some purchased from shows...some from dealers at shops...and some from acquaintances. Nice old coins there... Cheers, RickO

It's always enjoyable to look back into the past especially when you can see in hand what you did at that time. Nice coins!
