Found a new token today for my Beaver collection. I collect the Northwest Tradings Company and the Oregon exchange company types of Beavers. No I didn’t pay $95 way wat less!
These two I already have

Nice. I always wanted one of the original NWC tokens, but they always come fugly and expensive. But the history is intriguing.
Do you own one of the originals yet?

Real nice C1950-02a medal.
Great pick up! I'm a big fan of the North West Company token.
I believe I have one of those, along with a C1950-02a medal, but need to check exactly which medals I have.
Given that @DCW mentions they are always fugly, I looked up this finest known example. It's still not pristine, but at least it's not holed!
It has a great provenance / pedigree too:
I am following your beaver collection with interest...never realized there were so many. I thought of starting a 'ship' coin collection, but then, after investigation, found there were many, many, many ship coins. So now I just get significant (to me) ship coins...(like the Civil War Monitor coin, and a few others). Cheers, RickO
I hope to own an original some day and yes they are all ugly and a lot where holed these where not collected but used and several where pulled out of the ground.

You definitely have to narrow down like I collect two types if I collected the Canadian Beaver it would just be to much and $$$

A lot of detail on that one, but still has those spots. Like the metal is being eaten away.
A good number of these, as the story goes, were unearthed from Indian burial grounds. They were good for one beaver pelt in trade. The Native Americans were apparently big fans of the tokens, keeping them even in the after life.
If I recall, the copper is a lot scarcer than the brass versions.
Awesome design
