What is all of your opinions on this coin? I was one of the unlucky ones to not get one from the mint. I see there selling for a grand on ebay for a pf69. Is it worth it. Is the value going to rise? Should I purchase one now or wait? Thanks

I would wait as the hype for the coin is slowly dying down

PF70s have held their value better so far.
If you have patience, give it a year or more and wait for the price to drop as new low mintage items from the mint divert attention from this release.
Wait...
Pricing has dropped on raw, slabbed 69s and slabbed 70s. An OGP Sold at auction today for $990.00. It was a 7 day auction so it didn’t sneak up on anyone...
I'd wait a while.
If you're buying it only in hopes to profit, wait forever. those telling you to wait awhile are assuming, and they could be right, that you want one to add to your collection.

I'm looking for one to add to my collection. The mint still shows not available at this time. Enter your email and phone number for when they come available. I have done that several times since Nov. I did talk to the mint and they said if there's cancellations or returns then they would notify people on the list. No ones going to return a item that's getting 15 times more then they bought it for.
@Juanmotime707....Welcome aboard.... You have a good point.... the selling prices are still incredibly high compared to the purchase price.... so people will sell rather than return. I would continue to wait... The sell price will always be much higher than the original mint price... but it should drop a bit more in another year...Cheers, RickO
Wait for prices to drop, by then you'll forget about this coin and have something else on your radar.
I would wait but you are aware that these type Silver Dollar coins have a KNOWN SPOTING IISSUE. No one told me when I started buying my graded coins. Imagine my surprise when a few years later I noticed some of my graded coins in their safe PCGS and NGC boxes started to develop the MILK SPOTS. If you did not know you do now. Good luck on your hunt.
Welcome to the forums!
Save a space in your collection and wait.
IMO
The pricing on eBay has been silly. Saw one person listing an unslabbed one for $6K. I would just wait and not worry about it. The prices will settle before long and you’ll know what the cost of entry is.

I appreciate all your comments. Thanks to you all. I have tried to collect silver eagles for years, but always seem to have to sell them to survive. Am trying again, hopefully this time I will be able to keep them. Welcome to social security benefits
I was lucky on this 2019. But I did miss the 2011 5-coin set. I elected to wait several years let all the speculation evaporate. Purchased an unopened set from a seller on BST forum, at just short of double USMint issue price.
The PCGS PR70's have tanked below $1,800.00 which is about $1,000.00 less than they were a month ago. I would wait until the 69's are around $800.00 before I would buy in.

Thanks high relief, of course a pr70 would be better but who can afford one of those
There were certain labels (e.g. Baltimore or first day of issue) that might have reached those levels; however, the "average" first strike flag holder PCGS PF70 coins never routinely fetched anywhere near $2800. The prices have adjusted regularly, but there are numerous sales in the $1800-$2000 range when before they were in the $2000-$2300 range.
Am I missing something here?

60% of the release are now graded. Here's the breakdown
My PCGS profile
I've said this before it's just a number. You wouldn't know the difference between a 69 or a 70 if they were presented to you with the grades hidden. The human eye can't detect a miniscule imperfection. I don't look at my coins under 10x magnification.
In order to establish a value, you need multiple data points. It's possible I missed something around that time, but I don't think these ever consistently hit that price level.
It's possible that I missed something, but this looks like an extreme outlier to me. Were the coins consistently fetching that level with multiple price points?
