He did have it acid tested, he’s a jeweler (sales). It’s silver. Feels just like the pocket pieces I have in pocket, rings true, non magnetic.

To add, he doesn’t care if it was carved or lasered or whatever, modern or not. It got him trying to figure out what O year it could be, if it is modern made, and what the 1936 date signifies (if anything). Same here really, something to do over some beers, ha!

To further add, he took it to his coin guy and he thought it was a real Morgan.

It is a neat piece, but not made from a genuine Morgan Dollar or even silver.
Looks like a modern non-silver Chinese manufacture.

The supposedly-carved obverse was struck that way, not carved after the strike.
You can tell because it has "cartwheel" mint luster that formed when struck, but that luster would not remain if carved.

Agree with Dan. This coin was struck with copy dies made from a real carved Morgan dollar. Neat coin but it never saw the inside of a US Mint. The eagle or reverse side looks like the counterfeits coming out of China. It may be made from silver or may be heavily silver plated to pass the acid test.

Supposedly real coin, cad machine made, where the date is actually the design # they program in. wish dot com. First I’ve heard of it.....?

Very neat coin. Great art work and design for the obverse. A much better Christmas gift than the new underwear that I got for Christmas. :'(

A lot of CF products sold from that website.

    Buyer beware.

The 1936 date might be an artifact of the modern hobo nickel design - 1936 Buffs are commonly used by modern carvers. The design could have been enlarged to use on the "dollar".
