Electric cars are the curly lightbulbs of the auto industry. Hydrogen is the LED. Quick to refuel, predictable range at any temperature / climate, no toxic battery packs. Zero emissions. Once hydrogen gets cheaper it should take off.
Nope, reality is far different. Hydrogen is just a dead man walking that you are not seeing. Mistake to think you need to spend time going out of your way even to a refueling station, gas or hydrogen. Seconds spent recharging conveniently from home(contaminent free) for potentially zero cost(panels). 250kw charging plenty(and getting faster still) while on long trips while you get to drive a car thats actually fun and safer. Chemistry comps are dynamic fyi.
With costly infrastructure required(hugely inconvenient locations, largely absent for a reason), crappy to drive, rolling Hindenburgs, extra cost, refuel capacity issues as well and others. They solve zero daily issues and are worse than ICE even. They need to do something better and they simply don't over electric, let alone future solid state benefits.
Will there ever be a decade when they can even complete a cannonball run sea to shining sea run let alone someone would want to drive it that much? Time ultimately more valuable than money, free hydrogen still loses out.

Possibly the TSLA inclusion in the S&P 500 will mark a high water mark for the entire market. Or not!
I noted today that Door Dash (IPO last week) has a market value about equal to General Motors.
