Share some idle thoughts on a Saturday night.
Guess i'll go first.
The issue at coin shows used to be dealers leaving early Sunday. Now it is early Saturday. Maybe give free donut certificates to the dealers if they stay. That would probably work.
Neil Peart was a great straight ahead rock drummer. John Bonham was more of a jazz type rock drummer. Ginger Baker was the ultimate rock drummer.
There is another PCGS/CAC shoe to drop. Figured something would come out of FUN...apparently not yet.
Coin dealers must be getting hurt with lower prices and narrower margins. Expect the field to thin out through the first half of the decade.
An Ok movie was better when you were ten than a great movie at 60. Popcorn was better then too.
Tony Bennett is still touring in his nineties. He could stand there and not sing and his smile alone would be worth the ticket price.

Glad the forum is back up!
In general, there seems to be a transition from shows to online. I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done to prevent it, but certainly dealers not appearing on weekends can only accelerate the process.
The older you get, the more important old friends become.
I got some vanilla cloud handshake problems.
Glad to see the Ravens getting the stuffing knocked out of them.
2020 and the stickers are worth more than coins.
Ebay is still the greatest coin store on planet earth.
Hopefully the price of the Weimans remains stable.

Meth chick stole my prized F-150 Dec 13th at 5am from a convenience store 1 block from my house. Show truck. I drove it 70,000 miles without even a hairline in the paint. She drove it 4 blocks and totaled it. Got the new F-150 today. Wow . . . are they nice!
Coin relation???? Behind the seat was my school / coin bag with an amount of cash in it (some sales / Morgans / Type stuff) that would make me feel extremely stupid to admit in a public forum. I presumed as I saw her drive off I would get insurance to replace the truck . . . but I would never see the cash again. It would be a huge hit. Like . . . . worthy of one of the biggest Forum stories . . . but one I would die without telling.
She was coming down off her high . . . drove 4 blocks and piled it through a fence into a parked car. Great police response. She was totally unaware she was looking at enough cash to support a meth addict for 4 lifetimes sitting right behind her seat. Cops reported to me immediately. I asked if the bag was there. They said yes.
Karma exists. I got a huge amount of it in exchange for being a nice guy. The truck could have been stripped and found 2 weeks later . . . sans bag. I got it back within an hour.
And . . . . . . the newer F-150s are schweeeeeeet. Thank you, meth chick!
Moral . . . .if you want to do meth . . . . .take extra driver's ed. in high school . . .

Bill Ward was more of a Jazz type rock drummer than Bonham ever was.

Random thoughts on a Saturday:
Network issues make me appreciate the forums even more
Attendance at FUN was awesome! 2500+ Thursday + 2500+ Friday! Perhaps the internet will give way back to shows?
Edit to add...Saturday was strong also but haven't heard the numbers.
Very True, I passed on going to my first FUN show this year so I could hang with my 3 guys in Orlando later this month.. friends for 25 years
Turning 40 this year is scary
Ok...John Bonham was the best rock drummer that ever lived!
Where is all this talk of jazz drumming coming from? Anybody remember Max Roach? Joe Morello?

Huh????
Did you guys think you were being put in time out?
Roach was the best. Morello exceptional.
I figured that PCGS began putting a microchip in each new thread.
Buddy Rich put them all to shame.

Coin dealers leaving shows early on Saturday instead of Sunday? No one saw that comin...
I'm thinking about adding some currency to my collection but finding that collecting VF/XF Buffalo Nickels with my 9 year old son and filling holes in his Dansco album is more rewarding
Now that PCGS/CAC is going to be in registry sets, should I sell my non-CAC coins and keep the stickered coins only???
My wife is looking forward to attending the Long Beach Show next month. Yeah I'm blessed!
Neil Peart was frickin' awesome!
Techically Rich was the greatest drummer of all time...his sessions with the Art tatum combos were exceptional but...In his heart he was a big band guy and never connected as Roach did.
Coin shows, coin smoes, there's football to be watched.
Having a hard time finding a nice 1911-D One Cent 'woodie'.
Watched the making of 'Fiddler On The Roof'. I watched this movie when it first came out. I was 12. Saw it for the second time at 30 and again yesterday, 30 years later. I cried at 'Sunrise, Sunset'.
Note to self, as a former Marine, don't tell son who is currently going through USMC boot camp that you cried while watching 'Fiddler On The Roof'.
I wish a certain poster here would have the decency to apologize for insulting my family. Be a mensch.

I have been out of work on FMLA for over a month now. It is the most boring thing of my life. (Mostly because I'm not getting income to support my coin habit.)
No love for Keith Moon, the man who INVENTED the rock star drummer life?
Sunday morning... January thaw (60 degrees)....Going shooting...Cheers, RickO
Moon was good, but eclipsed by Danny Seraphine.

Reminds me of a little clipping I took out of a newspaper back in the late 70's (I was only like 20 years old when I first saw it.) and I've had ever since and it just gets more true as years go by:

Still in Orlando, leaving early tomorrow morning. Going to be hard to leave the 80° weather behind.
FUN was overwhelming for me.
Awesome but sensory overload for this country bumpkin.

In terms of technical (polyrhythmic, as opposed to sheer speed) ability, Ginger Baker was likely the best rock drummer in history. I saw him about five years ago touring with a jazz quartet, and it was a great show. Ginger's banter in-between songs was also hilarious.
OK, glad we put that argument to bed. Carry on...
