******YOU!!! ******The folks that come here day in and day out to be involved in this great community. Sellers, buyers, coins that might mean absolutely nothing to one person that another holds deep in their soul. Coins I will never buy, but I love to see people who would. Funny stuff, informative topics, learning, teaching, unintentionally influencing someone else in a new series or interest with a coin that is posted. Sarcasm, a willingness to give to help others in need. Friendly arguments and disagreements that may never be looked at in the same way. We are the CU forum! ``

Rocking my "shiny-object-syndrome"!!!
I used to be addicted to coin collecting.
Now, I found the Forum and I'm addicted to that, too.
Combine the two and it's a numismatic drug!
I am literally checking in all hours of the day and night on all my devices LOL!
I love the combination of learning and interaction.
Love to show off my newps and get opinions, too.
Love to give others my opinion on their coins and promote the hobby, as well.

The Coin Forum, like the Trading Cards Forum has been a great place to come to and look at other collector's coins and trading cards and learn new stuff each and every day. The Forums here are an invaluable source of information.
Thanks to all for making this place what it is!!!

All the above ... plus we get the cutting-edge technology on coin photography which is a huge asset on this forum.
Great post, Hallco!
Heather and Brett are doing a wonderful job running this forum. Keep up the good work and thanks for your efforts. Running a place like this can't be an easy job.

What I enjoyed years ago and what brought me back here is the knowledge, corny jokes, and love of sharing pics, successes, and life stories. I tried to find that on other forums at different times and the sites were either dead, boring, or always confrontational.
TurtleCat Gold Dollars
To me, the forum is a magical place, an escape from the responsibilities of life. I get to crack corny jokes, I get to indulge in fun hobbies, the power company doesn't bother me here, the car insurance company doesn't bother me here, the landlord doesn't bother me here, the grocery store manager doesn't look at me strange because I forgot to wear a shirt inside the store, what's not to love? If I can just manage to keep my wife from telling me to clean the bathroom every 20 minutes, it will be heaven on earth! This place is like going to the fair. We really need cotton candy vendors inside these threads!
Thanks for this post. I have learned a good deal here in the short time I've been lurking and then participating. Thank you to all of the knowledgable folks here.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
This is a great place for coin collectors of all levels...Lots of knowledge, freely exchanged.... great coin pictures (I remember when the first few pictures were posted....WOW)...now, coin photography is an art, and we have some of the best posting pictures here. The hobby is alive and thriving, the daily contributions and discussions substantiate that point. Carry on ...Cheers, RickO
New here, but love the information and the people have been great. This site has opened my eyes to a whole new world.
You see, I have a confession. Before the infamous 2019-s ERP Silver eagle, I was totally a bullion stacker. I am ashamed. Love or hate the above mentioned US mint release, it did bring some people into the hobby, at least one.
So far my collection consists of Morgan and Peace dollars, Walker half dollars, and Gold Sovereigns. I guess the stacker part isn't completely out of my system, but my horizons have been expanded. For that I thank you all!
Excellent transaction with: ffcoins, Proofmorgan, fivecents, MorganMan94
@ballistic_kennedy Welcome!! Sounds like you're well on your way!! And you came to the right place!!

What he said!
When I first got into coins, I knew I had to get information. And I naturally Googled my questions. I had always used a trick, even before this, when searching. I include the word "forum" in my search. That way I get similar questions, and can read through threads, not just "informational" articles -which are often sales pitches or just cursory observations.
The two forums I was most impressed with the answers by, were this one and CCF. I am currently an active member of both. I spend probably 95% of my time here, but I recognize the great content of CCF. There are MANY experts there, and a lot of comprehensive and specific discussion which doesn't exist even here. I know a lot of you (from prior threads) do not like that place. But it is the best forum other than this one. I am "thisistheshow" over there too, if anyone sees me - (say hi!!)
I am also "thisistheshow" on reddit - where I go mainly for sports and investing talk - but also can find some great coin content...... sometimes.
I've only been here a short time and must also admit it was the ERP that brought me here. I'm no big time coin collector as I collect mostly modern stuff, but I've been intrigued by the info and photos of the older stuff. I am learning something new all the time. As far as I knew there was P, D, S, W, CC, and O. Now I start hearing about varieties of these that I never knew existed. Still working on some of the lingo and abbreviations but that's what google is for. A wealth of knowledge, helpful people and fun stories. Love hearing about people's acquisitions. This place is fun, I like it.
Good stuff! Maybe that could be a TV commercial for this forum!

@Hallco ...... Mahalo for summing it up
This forum is second to none, much like the company that provides it.
It has proven to be a great place to find friend's with many of the same interests. A venue for learning, teaching, moral support and the occasional rap on the knuckles when appropriate.
I've been here going on fifteen years and hope to be around for many years to come.

Thank you, CU!

Lance, your posts certainly don’t give the forum a black eye. 😉

It's a great forum - even for those of us who mostly lurk and are not the highest end collectors. I've learned a lot here!

Knowledge, and connection with a few individuals who have interests that supplant their numismatics as well.

I have had a chance to inspire (a little bit) in some areas, and answer questions where I have some ability (holders).
