Curious about this 2000 D nickel

Is this more than just machine doubling? Noticed there is a lot of doubling on forehead and also eye. Help appreciated!

    My take on the situation:

    1) As far as I know, there is no known DDO for this year/MM. (I could be wrong).

    2) MD is "flat, shelf-like" - which is exactly what your coin's doubling looks like to me.

That leads me to beleve....it is not a doubled die.

It is, however, an extreme example of MD, which I would keep it I found it.

Thanks for the feedback. Great explanation also :)
