Excellent eye-appeal and surfaces for a VF20 coin!

    All glory is fleeting.

A lot of design detail left for a VF 20 too...
Why is the "E' in Liberty the first to wear on these?

It's one I check ever day. I was surprised no one else purchased it as there were a few views before I saw it.
Now if I can fine a dime to go along with it.

I check there everyday too. Nice coins, fair prices, great people to work with. I almost bought it but backed off because I have overspent on coins lately. Glad you got it.

Nice clean strong 20. I really like the simplicity of the design.

  • ms70ms70 Posts: 13,954 ✭✭✭✭✭

Nice and clean. For the grade it even has a sharp "LIBERTY".

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Nice coin for VF-20. It does have the somewhat unusual contact marks noted by @Realone , but I've seen worse for VF-20 raw at least.
This is an example of the V-7 die marriage, although you probably don't care if you are using it for a type set.
Obverse: flat top 1 in date, crack from top of cap to the NW.
Reverse: notched leaf under D of DIME, no cracks. (Also repunched right foot of first T in STATES and first A of AMERICA).

I have some concerns, since you have it in hand, what issuing on in the following areas of the reverse?:
Left of the base of the F in OF
    Between I & C in AMERICA
To the lower right of A in AMERICA, a small bump
    Under the E in DIME
    Under the D in DIME
To the right of the lower Wreath above right side of Bow
Left of the H in HALF by the base

_ don't have it in hand yet. It was shipped yesterday so I should have it Thursday or Friday._

I think this design, without those stars cluttering up the obverse, look so much better than the subsequent dates. They remind me of a little cameo.
