Good write up on these El Salvador Flag Pesos current The Numismatist

Struck at the Central American Mint (private mint)
Shortly ( within a few days ) the peso was abolished
as the monetary unit and replaced by the colon in
recognition of 400th anniversary of Columbus discovery of the New World .

Mintage approximately 41,165

    VYes, they cover some nice rarities. My favourite still is the Guatemala 1829 real.

    Looks like a real sleeper with the low mintage and the short lifespan. That would be an interesting coin for a 'One From Every Country' collection.

    Definitely .......i would love to buy more nice ones but hard to find.
