Hi guy's, yes, found another circulated Jefferson with almost Full Steps, including the side steps of Monticello.
This time it's an earlier date, 2018p. My first thread was a more recent date, 2019.

The mint even told you that one is full steps - they stamped “FS” in the right corner on your last photo! :D Nice coin, but I think full steps are common on present day moderns.

with new jeffs I demand better to keep them as full step.
get a box of nickels and you would be surprised what you might find.

Sure, I'm aware of the common part but to think these are still in pretty good condition even in the harsh public. :)

Wow. Did you get in in change or roll hunting?

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I am working my way thru a box (2000 coins) of 2019s, and am almost done with a box of 2018s. I have not checked each one but I think they are fully struck.

I find that the lower relief coins of the last couple decades tend to be more fully struck, which makes sense.

Good pictures... and the modern nickels seem to exhibit full steps in general.... at least the one's I have received in change do... at first I thought they were special, then they kept accumulating....Cheers, RickO

Sometime ago (late 80's maybe) the relief was lowered and then the newer design uses this low relief to strike up more detail and probably extend die life. This lower relief look IMO ruined the eye appeal. Look an an early proof Jefferson like a 1940 for instance to get a idea of what a truly attractive nickel looks like.

Are you sure that ‘FS’ doesn’t stand for front steps? 😆

That's a 2018 coin. It might have been in the public for a week and you're the second person to touch it.

I love your enthusiasm, but an uncirculated 2018 nickel with full steps is worth a nickel. A full Mint roll is worth $2 and I would dump it in a Coin Star to get my $2.
