The only Lincolns I need in the 40-74 folder are 1943-D, 1954, 1955-S.
May never find the 54 and 55-S.

  • CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 8,658 ✭✭✭✭✭

    @mannie gray I found a nice 55 a while back. Now i’ll have to see if it’s an S.

Thought I had a nice 55 S, until I checked the reverse. I took these experimenting with lighting.

Found my first proof cent today and it was a dandy. A beautiful, almost flawless Philadelphia mint 1961 proof cent.

AU 55 maybe, isn't there rub from the forehead down through the coat?

I think so. After closer inspection it always gets worse. I thought it was just the cell phone pic so I took some more pics with my scope. And a couple with added light from my cell phone from different angles just to show the luster. It'l look good in Mannie's album :)

Good pictures... The S looks like it has been slightly hit on the bottom curl....Nice find and will look good in an album. Cheers, RickO

I used to have a roll of 1955 S cents. Not no more! :(

@Jeremytriplej32 those are not the 1970-S DDO. The DDO looks like this:

The image is too distorted to tell if it is actually doubling however it looks doubled in the L.

  • CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 8,658 ✭✭✭✭✭

Can you take a pic more in focus?

  • emeraldATVemeraldATV Posts: 4,572 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Try this.
    Can't see doubling.
    But focus is the factor.
    Carry on.

  • I dont know, this is as good as my ipad can do for pics.

Well, I open 4 rolls every night. ( US 1 cent, from a box of 50, looks like loomis but no name, from the bank)
    Last night found this 1993.
Mild doubling on both sides through the whole strike.
Sorry no whole photos available as of present time, but my I.T. department is working on it. (lol)
Luster is blinding and dont trip on the steps.

Looking to score the last few ATB quarters from 2019, I went to the local bank & picked up a few quarter rolls, along with a couple nickel rolls as well.

Didn't find any of the Q's I needed, but I did find a Buffalo Nickel! Nic-A-Date candidate, but always a minor thrill to still find these lurking out there!

    I unroll a box a night, 3 or 4 days a week sometimes more. But I’m quick mostly looking for high grades aside from the usual suspects, 66, 68, 69, 72, 83, 84, 88, 92, 94, 98, 99, 00, 06, did I miss any :D

Do you look for 69-D no FG?
    1964 has a really nice DDR ...

Many thanks for the W quarters from your recent GTG contest.
Your enthusiasm and generosity and willingness to "let us in" on your learning curve have been genuinely refreshing.
    Thank you !😎😎

@mannie gray The pleasures all mine. And the information especially the kind you can’t find on the net is priceless. Not to mention the hospitality. I have found several no 69 FG’s but no 64’s just yet. 😎
Edited: Oh wait this is the net :D

  • 2008 D Hawaii quarter. Is this doubling on the reverse? I was checking and didnt see anything about a double die 2008 D Hawaii quarter. Thoughts and opinions?

  • CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 8,658 ✭✭✭✭✭

    @Jeremytriplej32
Again, the pics are too blurry to tell. If I had to guess I would say machine doubling but I can’t even tell where the doubling is from those pics. Sorry :/

  • rickoricko Posts: 98,724 ✭✭✭✭✭

I see no doubling at all in those pictures....could be the blur or the glare. That being said, if there is anything there, it is most likely machine doubling. Cheers, RickO

  • emeraldATVemeraldATV Posts: 4,572 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Yes, large as shown.
One fact (breaking news) must be kept in mind.
See the 8 on the small ?
Match it, regardless of large or small 2.
    More details to follow.

Woww. You have so many coins. I would like to save different coins but I didn't get much coins. From whwre I will get different coins?

  • rickoricko Posts: 98,724 ✭✭✭✭✭

@tom1....Welcome aboard.... You can get coins at a local coin shop, coin shows or online coin dealers (google is your friend). Also, the BST here (Buy, Sell, Trade forum) is a great source with no extra fees. Good luck...Cheers, RickO

  • CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 8,658 ✭✭✭✭✭

@tom1 . I like to get them from banks and stores, this way your only paying face value.

  • emeraldATVemeraldATV Posts: 4,572 ✭✭✭✭✭

Last night was very odd in a way out, way.
Had 4 rolls to go, and only got through 1.
4-5 hours with one roll. Dont ask. Will show all as time and space permits.

    1. kaleidoscope:

is an optical instrument with two or more reflecting surfaces tilted to each other in an angle, so that one or more (parts of) objects on one end of the mirrors are seen as a regular symmetrical pattern when viewed from the other end, due to repeated reflection.

  • CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 8,658 ✭✭✭✭✭

@emeraldATV . That's cool. I like the one you did a while back that had the moving effect, kinda like the strange symmetrical pics designed to measure stress levels. Perhaps, I should smoke some of that stuff you got :D But then the pics might speed up even more :#
