New pickups for me, Walking Liberty Halves
![ballistic_kennedy](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/userpics/480/nAVI8EQTAQZ69.jpg)
New to collecting, picked us a 1945 & 1946 Walking Liberty Halves (no mint marks). I rarely see them in this good of condition, so I grabbed them up.
Thanks for a great forum and teaching me a lot! Taking good pics of coins is HARD!
Edited to crop coins.

Nice walkers!
Thanks, trying to decide if they are worth getting graded. New to the grading thing. I snagged them up cheap but not sure if I got the eye to make the call.

Why don’t you consider cropping your photos?
It did not cross my mind, will work on that.

Tough to judge luster and surfaces from those photos, there is a bit too much light on them. Bear in mind an MS65 in either of those dates is about a $75 coin.
I need to take some better pics. Not sure how to take quality coin pics.

The photos make both coins look polished. I hope they are not.
I don't think they are polished.

Sorry for the bad news.
I dont think as far as value is concerned that grading them would be beneficial. As already stated they are about $75 coins in ms65. Cost of grading and shipping would be close to that.
But in a learning scenario, it is a tuition. You could also buy a ms64, 65 and a 66 in the late date philly minted walkers for not alot of dollars, part of an education.
Have you discovered pcgs coin facts and photograde yet? Super references.

They look heavily polished but with Unc. details.

@ballistic_kennedy....Welcome aboard...your WLH's do look polished...it could be the pictures/light...You can submit them for grading, but do not get your hopes up too high... Good luck, Cheers, RickO
I have to agree that based on the photo's the coins look polished. That is probably why they were so cheap. There are a lot of raw Walker's out there like that.![:( :(](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
It is too bad, but I paid close to melt so no big loss. I will throw them into flips and get them looked at professionally at some point. There are no coin shops close by anymore. Thank you all for your time, luckily not an expensive lesson.

Not bad!
Welcome to the hobby!
As you continue to develop a good 'eye' your definition of "..this good of condition" will change.

I screwed up so many times in the past that I really don't want to think about it ballistic_kennedy.
Do you know the old saying, "Wish I knew then what I know now" ( Is that right? )
I have handed out so much wasted money just because I was not educated enough in my own pursuit of my hobby.
Good luck.![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
