Just bought this gold dollar from Apmex
With all of the discussion on this forum about Apmex using stock photos, I was very leery of buying from them. Their prices are normally very high and I did not want to deal with essentially buying a coin sight unseen. But I have been looking for this date and grade for a long time and decided to take a chance when they discounted their much higher price.
The person I worked with was very helpful and admitted they normally use stock photos. When I asked to check to see if this was a stock pic or not she said this was the only coin of that date they had ever handled so she was sure it was of the actual coin I would receive. Happy to say it was and the deal went smoothly. I like the look of the coin, especially the reverse.
What do you think?

Nice coin and I'm glad it worked out for you.
I have a couple that I bought from them that I like very much.
Purcheses of numismatic items there just require work & maybe some lost shipping money.
Never had a problem with a return.

Nice coin, especially the reverse!
That is a stunner! I agree with Insider....the reverse is spectacular.
Apmex is usually a little higher, but I’ve always had flawless transactions with them.

I have only bought bullion from them but never had a problem.
Me, too. But that's a stunner.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Both smooth and frosty at the same time very nice
You know this series damn well. What's your take on it? The reverse looks 66 but the the obverse looks 64 to me but that's just my idiotic opion.
Given that the photos are the size of dinner plates on this small coin, which makes every tick enormous, I think that the obverse is a legit 65 and the reverse could be 67.
I like it
Looks very impressive to me! Congrats!!!
So....if a coin has two different grades on each side, does the lower grade win out on the slab? There isn't an average grade right? A 65 on obverse and 67 on reverse wouldn't get you a 66 label right?
Correct....Lowest grade side determines the grade.
Very nice, I love old gold!
I like it, congratulations !!!
Very nice Au!
