Large theft of 100 Oz. Englehard silver bars in California

Just got this email yesterday:

Help recover stolen silver bars and apprehend the criminals

A Santa Cruz CA area residential burglary on Monday Dec 2 took 90+ Englehard 100 oz silver bars
from one of our clients.
If you have purchased or have been offered anything that fits part or all of this group, please
immediately contact. If you do not have a shop yourself, please let your local shops know.

    Were they serialized bars?
    If so did the owners keep a record of theses serial numbers?

    Wow.... what a haul...They were obviously targeted....I hope the bars were serialized and we can get the numbers. Not that I think any will end up out here in the East, but the internet provides many outlets...Cheers, RickO

    It will unfortunately be untraceable if the bars are remelted

    I live near the Santa Cruz area, and trust me there are no criminal masterminds around here. It’s some low level street scum that will try to dump them for us cheaply and as quickly as they can. The odds of it as being recovered is actually pretty good.
