I don't doubt it. Whoever purchased that Go 1925 Hookneck was not playing around. Not sure if that was one on your want list but I had my wow face on.

Does anyone know what "Dug up 0565" and "Hoard found 0565" means on the 1845 and 1843 GO coins?

The identity of the seller has not been disclosed. Some of us think we know who he is, but his request for privacy should be respected.

By the way, I didn’t mean provenance of the seller, but provenance that they came from the May 1965 hoard.

I tried looking up the May 1965 hoard and didn't find anything on it.

No. My payment was not accepted as our banking account was not under my name but my wife's so when they received the wire, despite th comment, they returned the money. I never had such a problem before. And also, they do not reply to emails very fast. To be fair, however, Mr Morton emailed me and told me not to worry. So finally the coins were mailed last week... I posted them on another thread on the sale. But according to the Royal Mail they are not yet in the USA so customs still could be an issue 😱.

I suspect you would need to ask an old-timer. Richard Long and Larry Hanks both mention some hoards in their books.

I should have asked Mike Dunnigan at NYINC

    Maybe I will call him
