Lincoln Shield Cent Error

I’m new to this forum but have been online since 1994 and a coin collector since 1963.

I need your help on this error coin my friend’s son found while roll hunting the other day.

I have been searching the Internet for the last couple of days and I cannot find one like it or even close.

Your thoughts and opinions will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Looks like glue from here. 2 cents glued together.

    Just my 2 cents :)

    It appears to be raised.

I think the glue makes more sense to me.

From that one photo that I can't enlarge,
it looks like glue to me too.

    Welcome to the forum!

Not a Mint error. Made post-mint. Someone placed another cent on top a cent and smacked or vise grip them together to leave the impression.

Also, it might be an impression from a clear coat or glue.

An actual Mint error would show a “correct” image if it came from subsequent die hit, not a reverse image.

A reverse photo will tell us whether it is glue or a vice job.

I would open the bid at $1,000,000 at least.

I think it's glue. Acetone will remove it if so.

I agree with all the above.

@coinmagnet....Welcome aboard....The image is reversed, so either a glue impression or a vise job...Cheers, RickO
