what has happened to this 2015 quarter?

new to collecting and have been able to figure out many die issues through forums and research but I am not sure how to word this problem in search. any help is greatly appreciated.

Agree. Glue or some other material has adhered to the surface. There is no part of that minting process that would produce a coin with that appearance. Your coin also looks well circulated.

had not thought of that, but under high magnification it looks like a small wave of metal. I will look closer to see if glue is the case
coin has discoloration and wear for sure, the green tint is from the microscope i am using for some reason. i have been studying the die making process and stages of wear as well as reasons for errors etc. . thanks for your input,
The coin is lime green. The surface the coin is on is lime green.

@revman74 ....Welcome aboard....soak the coin in acetone...will not affect the metal, but will remove glue and other organic contamination. Let us know what you find. Cheers, RickO
